My Impuls'o is to Suggest Another Toy

I expected more, but was let down. This toy lacked the power or firmness to target the area it claims to impress. My G-spot was left frustrated. Yes, it can do a lot of things. But, it doesn't do any of those things exceptionally well, so look elsewhere.

Use

The Impuls'o is a fun, odd little toy that is designed with two purposes in mind; hitting just the right spot.

For the ladies, it curves to target the G-spot. The slightly textured silicone with that slight curve at the end makes the "come hither" motion that is advised to find your G-spot. The diameter is beginner friendly, and the fun colors and stylized design eliminate the intimidation factor if you're new to sex toys.

For the men, it aims directly for the P-spot. The rounded tip allow for easy anal insertion, and the gentle curve aims the vibrations where they are needed to stimulate the prostate. The diameter is not going to please intermediate toy users who enjoy a sense of fullness, but the vibrations will add an exciting new zing to your play.

You could use the Impuls'o for external clitoral stimulation as well. You can slide the shaft along your body for a broader feeling, or use the tip for pinpoint stimulation. It could also be used to stimulate other erogenous zone like your partner's shaft or nipples.

As it's silicone, it can be sterilized and shared between you and your lover. The bullet slides out of the silicone sleeve and could be used alone for more targeted stimulation or to get the action started.

The entire toy is waterproof and can be submerged, so it's a great toy to take with you into the tub or shower. It would also be fun is a hot tub or pool.

Material / Texture

The Impuls'o is made of two main materials:silicone and plastic. The main portion of the toy is made of one solid piece of silicone, which rates a 10 out of 10 on the Eden Safety Scale. It is non-porous, hypoallergenic, latex free and phthalates free. The silicone that is used for the Impuls'o has a decent amount of bend and flex to it, in my opinion just a bit too much. You can squish it between your fingers slightly, as well. The loop that is used as the handle is very flexible, which makes it comfortable to hold. The surface of the silicone is more matte than shiny, and has a bit of drag to it. It collects a bit of lint and hair, but not as badly as some other toys I own. The colors the Impuls'o comes in are fun and quirky, and it's nice to see some unconventional options. I'm so tired of pink and purple toys!

The bullet that comes with the toy is hard plastic, which rates an 8 out of 10 on the Eden Safety Scale. It is hard and fairly smooth, with only a very light texture. The surface isn't shiny, but it isn't rough either.

Design / Shape / Size

I can't quite put my finger on what this toy looks like. It vaguely resembles a finger, but the wavy textures aren't anything like what you'd find on a finger. It isn't phallic, and it isn't anything like a traditional vibrator. It's strange, to say the least.

The Impuls'o is 7" long with a 5" insertable length. The ring at the end is 2" in diameter and about 1/4" thick. At it's widest point, the shaft measures 1 1/4" in diameter.

I did find myself wishing the loop was rotated 90 degrees, so I could look two fingers in the loop for thrusting. I found the loop functional for anal applications, but not helpful to get leverage for thrusting. A simple change, a rotation of the ring, would help immensely.

I wouldn't say this is a toy that screams "sex toy", but it would be hard to claim it was something else so I can't really call it discreet. It is small enough to throw in an overnight bag or purse, but I would put it in a checked bag with the batteries removed for air travel.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Impuls'o is one of those toys that I wanted to like but didn't perform the way I wanted it to. I simply couldn't get intense pressure or intense vibrations on my G-spot, and I need one or the other to have a satisfying G-spot orgasm.

The bullet does have a wide variety of functions; ten in all. You simply press the button once to turn it on and subsequent presses of the button cycle through the patterns. After cycling through the 10 settings, the next push of the button will turn the bullet off. The patterns are pretty standard for a 10 pattern bullet.

The patterns are:

1-Low Steady
2-Medium Steady
3-High Steady
4-Pulse
5-Three Short Pulses and One Long Pulse, Repeat
6-Ascending and Descending Rollercoaster
7-Speedy Pulse
8-Alternating Long and Short Pulses
9-One Long Pulse and a Bunch of Short Ones, Repeat
10-One Long Pulse and Fewer Short Ones, Repeat

It is fairly quiet, and it can't be heard through a door. Most likely, it won't even be heard over the covers. It doesn't have a ton of power, so it makes sense that it's quiet. I suggest that you put a drop or two of lube on the bullet before you put it in the silicone sleeve. I had real trouble getting the bullet out when I didn't apply a bit of lube first.

One thing to note is that the bullet that comes with the Impuls'o eats through batteries at an alarming rate. It takes three LR44 batteries, and they don't last long. It doesn't seem to happen with use, but while it's sitting. I've had it drain a set of batteries between the morning when I loaded fresh ones in there, and the night when I wanted to use it. Just to test this a few times and write this review, I went through 5 sets of batteries. They weren't used up by the toy being on for hours and hours, they were used up by the battery while it sits with the power off. So, if you purchase the Impuls'o, make a mental note to remove the batteries every single second that you aren't using the toy, or you'll wind up spending a fortune in tiny watch batteries.

The Impuls'o is waterproof, and survived being submerged on multiple occasions with no residual negative effects. The battery compartment of the bullet has a small rubber ring that works well to keep water out of the battery compartment.

Care and Maintenance

Caring for this toy is very easy. The silicone portion can be cleaned with soap and water or your favorite toy cleaner. There are no small nubs or grooves that collect a lot of fluid, so a simply wash does the trick. Be sure to clean and dry the bullet compartment too, in case any fluids or lube has collected in there. If you wish to sterilize the silicone piece, you can boil it for three minutes or run it through the dishwasher. You can also wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution.

The bullet is waterproof, so it can be washed with soap and water and submerged for cleaning. You could also wash it with a toy cleaner. You cannot boil the bullet or run it through the dishwasher because it will damage the motor, but if you want to sterilize it you can wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution.

Please use only water-based lubes. Silicone lubes interact with silicone toys, and will cause damage. Also take care when storing the Impuls'o. Make sure it isn't touching other silicone toys to avoid damage.

Packaging

Impuls'o comes nestled in a plastic form, which is inside of a cardboard box. The bullet is also seated in the plastic form, next to the Impuls'o. It looks as if it was designed to sit on a store shelf, with a window where you can see the toy and a small panel where you can feel a sample of the silicone used. It's minimal, but includes all the information you need to figure out the operation of the toy and how to care for it.

I wouldn't say it's the best for gifting, but it isn't trashy looking. There are no naked people on the package, but it does clearly say what it is and what it's for. There would be no playing this one off as a neck massager.

The package does take up quite a bit more room than the toy itself, so I don't use it for storage. You can just put the two pieces in a plastic bag and store them that way.

Experience

At best, I'll say this little guy was underwhelming. I really like a firm G-spot pressure and the amount of flex and give the Impuls'o has just left me frustrated and wanting more. As a multipurpose toy it delivers a wide range of uses, and the quality is lovely, but I was left unsatisfied. I couldn't feel full with it, as the diameter just doesn't measure up.

It's quiet and has a lot of functions, but there are better choices for G-spot play if you like pressure or intensity, and there are better choices out there for a mid-range all purpose vibrator or dildo.
Follow-up commentary
I'm still not a fan. The bullet practically isn't usable as it goes through batteries so quickly, and the lack of firmness makes this more frustrating than pleasurable. This one sits in the bottom of the toy box.

Thanks for the great review! I'm looking for a beginning G-spot vibe for my wife. Sounds like this is not the toy I'm looking for; I'll move along.
