Royal Good Fun
For the price you get more than you would have ever thought. Not for the faint of heart, but if you are used to bigger toys, and anal play, you want to add this to your collection. It may be hard to keep clean, but for the fun it provides, it is more than worth the hassle. This is one of the best additions to my toy box.Published: January 17, 2012

If you are just beginning into anal play, avoid this bad boy. The Doc Johnson Classic Royal Butt plug is great for the more advanced user, but for those just starting it could be a bit too much. From base to tip, it is about 6" inches. 5 1/2" of this is insertable, about the height of a sharpie marker. This would be quite a bit for someone new to anal play. The diameter is 2 1/2" and you can feel it.
The Plug is made up of smooth rubber, this makes it compatible with both water based lubes and silicone based lubes. It does collect lint, hair, and anything else that is around, so keeping it clean can be a bit of a challenge. I wash mine before and after each use with warm water, and a bit of soap. It is recommended that you use condoms with this toy. The plug is smooth all the way around with no seems on the actual insertable part. On the base, you can feel a seam.
The toy is great for both solo play and partner play. The flared base of the toy makes it safe for anal play. When using it, I like to tease a little bit before pushing it all the way in, sliding it in and out a bit. The toy feels great once inside. I would be cautious of just jamming it in because of its large size. Easing it in is the best idea, as to not do any damage.
The toy comes in a typical clear plastic packaging. On the front it says Classic Butt Plug, with cute green and white designs. Discretion is not a big item with this toy. The moment you take it out of the brown box that Eden sends all of their toys in, anyone near you will know what this is. The size of the toy makes it a bit harder than most toys to store away. I keep mine in a special toy box to prevent it being discovered. I wouldn't recommend it for a dorm room or an atmosphere you are trying to hide it a lot. It is waterproof, but I would recommend using it where your lube won't wash off.
Overall, this plug has become one of my new favorites. It feels great in, and for the more advanced user, the toy can give you a wonderful feeling. I love using it with my partner to give a bit of teasing to our foreplay. It can fill you up perfectly without hurting. It's a great addition when using other toys vaginally because it pushes the two closer, giving a feeling of tightness. I would recommend this toy to any advanced user wanting more fun with anal toys.

This big boy remains prominent in my collection. I still enjoy using it, I haven't outgrown it either. It is defiantly not for the faint of heart. I overall am still impressed with the product. For the price you pay you get a strong made toy.

Only if you are used to using penises/dildos/probes as wide as the largest diameter of the plug. otherwise, look for something smaller.

If you are completely new to the anal thing, I'd try something with a thin shaft, like the Njoy Small Plug.

Does anyone find the length on this an issue? Im not sure if everyone is different or what but when i tried this i found it hard to get past the widest girth. I know that it being wide wasn't the issue because i had used a toy slightly wider.

Way back then I had an issue with lengthy toys and deep penetration. Now I have no worries taking something 6 inches inside.

Classic butt plug royal - can someone confirm specs

Also, can someone actually take a tape measure and confirm the circumfrence? At this size even a quarter inch makes a difference. -

The picture you've linked is the old style. It was significantly larger than the new one, and had a very flimsy base that has been known to fold up and follow the rest of the toy in to your bum.
As far as I know, you can't find the old one online. Vendor's simply haven't updated the pictures, but it's identical to the white one (which seems to be updated more frequently).
The current model is somewhere between 2, to 2.25" in diameter. It's no where near 2.5"
I was an original owner of the larger model, but was never able to accommodate it's entire girth (I swear it was well over 2.5"). I ended up tossing it during a move, without realizing that it's impossible to find anymore. The new version just doesn't live up to the original, but the sturdy base is a welcomed improvement. -

If it's not too personal may I ask if you used this for anal or vaginal penetration? Or both? lol My other questions are, did you notice any odors from the plug when you opened it for the first time? Also, are there any lingering odors now after using it? What kind of warm up did you do in order to get this beast of a plug all the way in? Otherwise nice review and thanks for putting it up. I must applaud you on taking this thing all the way in.
I actually bought this with the other two, the slim and the average i used those constantly to prepare for this one. I actually used it for both, and there was a slight almost plastic odor but i washed it and it went away, and i haven't noticed any lingering odors now.
