I purchased the Classic Butt Plug Royal a couple of months ago in order to train myself to take larger toys and as a warm-up toy. It does an admiral job of both. I've gotten so used to it that I can fully insert it within a couple of minutes without having used another toy first. I attribute that to its cone shape and flexible rubber material. I usually keep it inserted for an hour or so and then move along to another toy like the Sexy Spades or Sasha Grey Signature Series plug. Due to the large bulb and short neck, I find it uncomfortable to keep in for longer than that, especially if standing or moving around. Sitting with it inserted is fairly comfortable, however.

This plug isn't for beginners. I would recommend it for intermediate users looking to work up to larger toys and advanced users looking for a stretch or a warm-up toy for bigger things.

I get very little prostate stimulation from this toy but that's pretty common for me.

The rubber material has a distinct odor to it that dissipates somewhat over time but hasn't gone away completely after over two months of use. I only mention this to those who might be bothered by it. It's a non-issue to me. After all, it's going in my butt. On occasion, it does hold odor for a day or so after having used it, despite multiple cleanings.

The outer shell is nice and squishy with zero texture. The inner core is made of a harder, less forgiving material. The combination of the two makes the toy rigid enough to insert it without it bending, and soft enough to offer some give.



Being that rubber is porous, I wouldn't recommend sharing this toy or using it both anally and vaginally. I don't use a condom with it but it wouldn't be a bad idea.

The traditional cone shaped design makes for easy insertion and extraction. Due to the short neck and very large bulb at the bottom, it sometimes wants to pop out while standing or moving around so I use it only when sitting. The base is nicely shaped, doesn't irritate and prevents the plug from getting sucked in all the way. I find it impossible to urinate (sorry if that's too much information) with this plug inserted. It must have something to do with the length because I have two other plugs that are similar or the same in circumference, but shorter overall and I don't experience that with either one of those toys. Overall, the size suits me just fine for my purposes (warm-up, stretching).

In addition to its size and cone shape, I love this plug because it's compatible with silicone lube. Silicone lube and anal play just go together for me. In my experience, water based lubes tend to dry out rather quickly, which isn't good when it comes time for removal. Also, I found that the two different brands of water based lube I tried with this plug didn't want to stay evenly spread out on the surface and the rubber kind of dragged on my skin when inserting it. I can get it in but it's much easier and way more comfortable with silicone lube.

Being that it's made out of rubber, I always wash the toy multiple times with antibacterial soap and hot tap water. Silicone lube is difficult to wash off but it's well worth the extra effort.

As I mentioned in the previous section, one can use either silicone or water based lubes without damaging the material.

I store it in the package that it came in and leave it open slightly to let air get to it (personal preference).

The clear plastic packaging is pretty standard for many Doc Johnson products and there's no disguising what it is. The package is adequate for storage. I keep all my toys in their original packages when possible to minimize incompatible materials coming in contact with each other.

It was between this one and the Super Big End. The Classic Royal won out because it was less expensive and, unlike the Super Big End, I can use silicone lube with no worries.
