Sexy spades small - sex toy by Doc Johnson - review by ShadowKitten

I received this toy after winning it from the Doc Johnson Q&A Contest, I was offered a choice of all three sizes (small, medium, large) and after a bit of thinking I chose the small, I do now wish I had chosen the medium however.

Anyways, this was my very first glass plug and only my 3rd butt plug to date. It's surprisingly light and slides right in anally with very little lubrication (its only function really) with ease, although I will admit I have become a moderate anal player recently so even though it was easy for me it may not be for others.

I'd say this toy is small enough for beginners but again, everyone is different; all genders can enjoy this toy in my opinion as well.

The plug is made of tempered glass, it has no smell or taste (why you're tasting a butt plug is something you should be asking yourself, not me heh) and is smooth, not porous, and seamless. There aren't any stimulating nodules or bumps/ribs so there's not much more to say about the material or texture of this plug.

The Sexy Spades is designed to look...well, like a spade! And what a sexy one it is! The top part of it has absolutely stunning amber and blue swirls throughout the head of the plug which make it very pretty to look at and it makes you appreciate the plug even more than the fact it's glass.

It's a fair size at 1 1/2" girth (4 3/4" in circumference) although is just shy of 3" (2 3/4" specifically) in insertable length. Most people classify the Sexy Spades Small as a medium sized plug (which technically it is when comparing to other size formats for other plugs) however I do find it to be small, which I'll cover in performance shortly.

Personally I think the average/beginner anal player (unless you're SUPER tight anally) with plenty of lube, a tiny bit of patience and relaxation can accommodate this plug no problem.

As for traveling with this plug, it isn't discreet so you may get some stares, it doesn't come with anything to store/transport it in either so you'd probably want to order something to take care of that if you order this plug.

I love this plug, I really do...so much so that I plan on buying the Sexy Spades Medium on my next purchase. Why you ask? Plain and simply put the Sexy Spades Small was a bit smaller than I hoped. I'm so used to 1.5" diameter plugs that while it stayed put and is very comfortable to wear long term with it's flat base and all. It doesn't fill me like I hoped it would so I do regret my decision on choosing the small over the medium.
I had yet to experience any glass toys at the time and didn't want to get a toy bigger than my bum can handle so I played it cautious and got something I knew I could handle. This is still a fantastic plug to have in any toy collection and will stay in mine as long as it possibly can (bar it breaking).
So really the ONLY gripe I have with this toy is it was a bit smaller than I hoped. Otherwise no complaints at all ^^

Like all glass toys, the Sexy Spades Small can be boiled, washed in soap and water, wiped down with toy cleaner, or even be submerged in a 10% bleach solution for a bit; just make sure to rinse it off good if you do that.

The lubes you can use with this toy are pretty much anything from your spit to water based to silicone and all the rest; just be aware that some lubricants can irritate the anal canal.

This doesn't come with anything besides the clam shell it comes in to store the toy in so you may want to invest in a toy bag or something similar to keep it safe.
