Sinful screw is just so-so

The Sinful screw is a decent no-frills anal probe. It's easy to hold and control and its size is realistic even for inexperienced users. Its low price is reflected in the quality and the fact that the Sinful screw is made from TPE is definitely the biggest drawback.

Use

Sinful screw is an anal probe designed for anal penetration and thrusting. The curved bottom part of the toy is very wide and acts as a flared base, which makes it safe for anal play.

The packaging describes the Sinful screw as an intermediate toy but its small diameter and flexible material make it a good choice for beginners as well. Advanced users may find the girth of this toy lacking but it still could be useful as a warm-up toy.

The toy could also be used for vaginal penetration, though it would probably be too small for most women.

Material / Texture

The Sinful screw is made of thermoplastic elastomer or TPE and is body-safe and phthalates free. TPE is porous and while it can be cleaned it cannot be sanitized the way other materials like silicone, glass, or metal can. This is disappointing, especially with it being an anal toy.

The inability to sanitize it makes sharing this toy inadvisable. It's best to keep this a one person toy or use a condom if you do share it. Also, for females, once the toy has been used anally it should not be used vaginally without a condom, even if it's been cleaned in between.

Right out of the package, the toy has no unpleasant smell whatsoever. The surface is smooth and free of any seams that could cause discomfort and the textured surface on the shaft of the toy provides increased sensation during play.

The material is very flexible, bends easily and moves with the body. For those that are new to anal play or new to using an anal toy on someone else, this flexibility can be a real benefit. Even if a person moves unexpectedly or you find yourself at an odd angle it shouldn't cause pain. However, this flexibility made the actual insertion of the toy more difficult as it was prone to bending.

Unfortunately the Sinful screw is not very durable and while the softness and flexibility can been beneficial, it also gives the impression of low quality. The fact that it's made from TPE instead of something that can be sanitized is another obvious indication this is not a high-quality toy.

Design / Shape / Size

Designed to resemble an actual screw, this toy has a unique look. The translucent blue color also adds to its attractiveness. The shape works great for an anal toy because the bottom of the screw acts as both a flared base and a handle that can be used during play.

Hustler, The manufacturer of the Sinful screw, includes the word "intermediate" on the front of the original package. I'm not familiar with Hustler's rating scale but I would consider this size comparable to many beginner toys. The diameter is pretty small at 7/8” and while the length may be too much for some it's easy to control the amount of length that you insert.

The Sinful screw weighs very little and is small enough to be easily packed in an overnight bag. It's not at all discreet looking, so it's probably best to store it out of sight.

Performance

This toy performs well as a basic anal probe. It’s very flexible but still firm enough to use for thrusting. The textured surface of the Sinful screw can definitely be felt and it increases the overall sensation.

I think the large base of the toy is easily its best feature. Not only does it act as a flared base but it also works great as a handle, making it easy to keep a good grip on the toy. This was extremely helpful when using lube because it allows you to still maneuver it despite slippery hands!

The toy's small size made it easy to accommodate without any prior warm-up, so it worked well as prep for a larger, denser toy.

The Sinful screw is not designed to be used as a plug and unless you're holding onto the end it tends to slip out. Also, without the thrusting motion the sensation of the twisted ridges can't be experienced.

Care and Maintenance

The Sinful screw can be cleaned with anti-bacterial soap and water or toy cleaner. It's waterproof and without any movable parts, so it can be completely submerged in water but cannot be boiled or put in the dishwasher.

For added safety, make sure to inspect the toy's condition prior to each use and if you see any damage, discontinue using.

TPE is compatible with both water and silicone lube, but oil-based lube should be avoided as it can cause the material of the toy to breakdown.

This material will attract hair and lint so you'll want to store it inside a toy bag or case.

Packaging

The Sinful screw came in a plastic bag displaying the Hustler brand name, with a zip lock closure at the top. The front of the bag is mostly transparent and allows you to see the actual toy inside.

Getting the toy back into the bag proved to be very difficult as it wanted to stick to the plastic. It's also a pretty flimsy bag that probably won't last long, so it's not a good choice for storage.

Experience

The first time I played with the Sinful screw I had a partner to use the toy on me. The next time, I tried it during solo play to get an idea of what it was like to maneuver and how well it worked for masturbation.

My partner and I both noticed that the toy had a tendency to bend right as we were trying to insert it. We also found that we couldn't thrust as aggressively as we wanted because the toy itself isn't that sturdy. The Sinful screw doesn't weigh much and we had to be careful not to apply to much force when using it.

We both loved how the base of the Sinful screw could be used as a handle! It was easy for her to grip and maneuver the toy with just one hand and I found a number of ways I could comfortably hold it when I was using it on my own. Another big plus is that the base is large enough so that even with lube on my hands I could still grab onto it and keep control of the toy.

For me the Sinful screw worked best as a warm-up toy or when it was used simultaneously with vaginal penetration. It was just too small and too soft to be the main event.

While I enjoyed the added sensation that the twisted texture provided I really wished it had beads or something that was graduated in size to make it more stimulating.

The biggest disappointment here is the material. For an anal toy I'd much prefer a safer, higher quality material that I could fully sanitize. So far I'm using anti-bacterial soap and water and I haven't noticed any tears or damage. For safety reasons, I'm going to keep it a one person, anal-only toy.
Follow-up commentary
I still like the Sinful screw. I use it mostly as a warm up toy and enjoy the textured surface. I'm still disappointed that it's TPE but I check it regularly for tears and damage but so far I haven't found any problems. It's not a favorite but it's still fun.
