Love web review

Published: February 12, 2008
useful review
The Love Web is a restraint system designed to allow for many positions; however, the system is flawed in design and is not appropriate for more experienced users of bondage/restraints.
Pros:
Fairly inexpensive
Cons:
Not for more experienced bondage enthusiasts

I had been looking at Rachel’s Love Web for a while now, dreaming about all of the various bondage possibilities.

It is advertised as easy to install and highly versatile, with more bondage positions and possibilities than simple under the bed tethers and the added bonus of coming with the appropriate Comfy Cuffs.

The installation instructions seemed easy enough; simply slip the loops under the mattress, tighten, and enjoy the fun. However, I found that on my bed, the straps did not pull the web taut. The outer straps were fully tight and could not be moved very much, but there was nothing I could do to get the inner web secure.

As for playtime, I personally thought the experience with the web a flop. As a person who loves to be bound and at the will of her Master, the ability to move along the web lines was a bit unerotic.

The Comfy Cuffs do not directly attach to the web; there is a small ring of Velcro on the opposite side of the openings. It is not very strong, and in moments of intense pleasure (you know, when your whole body contracts and all you want to do is rip through something, anything), the Velcro breaks free of the web. I suppose this could be highly pleasurable for some, erotic for others – the breaking free of bonds through pure strength, given by pure pleasure – but not for me.

The lack of tautness of the inner web did not help either. When attached to the inner two web-lines, I could lift my limbs a good eight inches. All of these points combined did not "go the distance and stand up to a lot of use and rough play,” as given in the product description. When I want to be the submissive, I expect to be completely restrained and at the very will of my Master. This did not get the job done.

I understand that the failing of the web to become taut could have been user error and may work well for some people. I also understand that this product may work well (for those who can get it taut) for people interested in self or light bondage, especially considering the price. However, if you are looking for a true bondage situation and are looking for a system in which the cuffs/ties are movable about the bed, I would instead suggest the Bondage Bed Sheet by Sportsheets. It costs over three times as much, but, given this experience, I would go for it.

Great review and thanks for being objective. Sorry it didn't work for you though cause it seems like a great concept. This would be great for scared submissives or light players, I agree with you!
Thanks for the review and heads up!
