These cuffs are well constructed, comfortable and lightweight which is perfect for those who want to explore bondage but are apprehensive about it or for those unwilling to commit the funds for a higher end product. They are fairly strong but made for light use and definitely best for beginners. My husband ties these to ropes and uses them to hold down my wrists or ankles. They hold up to some light resistance and they feel quite solid considering the materials. However, they are not for suspension or rough play. Although durable, the Sportcuffs are not made to withstand heavy resistance or tension.

These cuffs are made from 3 materials. The base component which lies against your skin, is made of neoprene which is about 4mm thick. This gives considerable padding and makes them quite comfortable to wear. This is my favorite part about these. It is also quite soft and doesn't rub or scratch my skin. The neoprene is 1 3/4 inches wide which protects me against pressure points which can lead to circulation problems.

The next layer is constructed of 1 inch webbing which is what makes these cuffs strong and stretch resistant. If you set these to a particular tightness on your partner, you can expect them to stay tight through your whole session.



The velcro, assuming you leave the overlap necessary, is surprisingly strong. When it is wrapped around properly, it doesn't pull, give or rip off. The neoprene layer underlies the velcro completely, so you don't have to worry about scratching.

The cuffs are 15 1/2 inches in total length, but since you'll need at least 2 1/2 inches of overlap for the velcro to be secure, they have about 13 inches of usable circumference. This is plenty for wrists and ankles, but they will not work for most thighs or necks.



The hardware is very basic. There is a metal ring on each, the same type used for most key rings. One cuff has a small spring clip which can be used to attach them together. If you do use them this way though, it leaves quite a bit of room to wiggle around. The rings and clip are lightweight, but are fine for what my husband and I use them for.

My husband and I are happy with these cuffs. They are comfortable and secure. My husband tied 4 ropes to the corners of the bed and we tie these cuffs to the ropes for some fun and sexy bondage. We have had them for nearly a year, and they have held up admirably. We would gladly buy them again. We haven't used them for suspension or any really rough play, and I wouldn't recommend doing so with these. Also, if the person being tied really wants to escape, it is quite simple to use one hand and undo the velcro. However, if you want to get into some light bondage and fantasy play, these cuffs are great for you.

I haven't had to clean these, but supposing they got messy, it would be simple to wash these in the sink with warm soapy water and hang them to dry.

My experience with the Sportcuffs has been very positive. I would recommend them to all manner of beginners. My husband and I are hoping to someday upgrade to a nice leather pair, but for now, we love and enjoy these.
