Sportcuffs - velcro handcuffs discontinued by Sportsheets - review by UsaBoxBabe

So far I have loved every product Sportsheets makes and these are great too but with modification needed. They are comfortable and easy to use good for beginners and intermediate players. Non-threatening, low profile cuffs that get the job done. I suggest 2 pairs for tethering both wrists and ankles to four separate restraint points.

First, the inside of the cuff is Neoprene which is a very soft, strong and comfortable material with no rubbing or chaffing from extended sessions. It is a great material for your first set of cuffs. Or second. Or third.... Secondly they use a Velcro closure which I have yet to break free from nor my partner who is very strong. Velcro might not sound very secure but these cuffs belay that myth. The Velcro is securely stitched the length of the cuff so they stay just the way you want them to. Fully adjustable, they work well on both wrists and ankles.

They come in fun colors; red, purple (my fave) and black. The Neoprene inner cuff measures 10 1/4" x 1 3/4". They can fit a larger ankle but the exposed (at that length) Velcro strap might be too scratchy. You can put them on as loose or tight as you want. At first I kept them loose so I could get in and out of them as I needed to - I was experimenting by myself that day - and I found that they are also be good to use for leverage with a partner. When said partner came home that night he was a bit uneasy but we spent some time trying them on and taking them off each other and talking about a safe word. Our level of trust is high and we started slow.

I had rigged tethers to the bed posts (now I know why I bought 4 dog leashes when they were on sale!) and fastened the cuffs there. We didn't jump right into them as we were still getting used to the idea of bondage but having them there heightened the mood. We didn't use them that night. We did the next though and WOW what were we waiting for!?!?

I am a more dominate person so I put the restraints on him first. Having him spread-eagled on the bed with his body totally opened to me was so erotic! These cuffs only get 4 stars because of the modification needed to stand up to heavy pulling and thrashing. I hadn't had these very long before I broke them. The stupid, flimsy double o-ring failed. They need to make these with a stronger ring. I have since replaced the rings on all of my Sportsheets cuffs with heavy-duty key rings found at any hardware store. The rings that come on the cuffs are just a standard light duty key ring but you will need a heavier ring to stand up to more vigorous play. That was the only drawback but was easily fixable.
