Cuffs for the bondage beginner
These cuffs are exciting and great for beginners that are new to bondage play. I'd suggest them to a couple new to bondage play who want a sexy looking pair of cuffs.Published: September 2, 2008
Pros:
Black metal. Sexy feeling
Cons:
Small linkage between cuffs.
My boyfriend and I are new to the idea of bondage and have never tried it. We ordered a beginning bondage kit, only to find that it would be difficult to quickly remove the bondage gear if something went wrong. The idea of safety is very important to my boyfriend and I so we decided to wait until something more beginner friendly appeared. The handcuffs seemed perfect to make both of us feel comfortable with our first bondage experience. The ability to easily get out of the cuffs was an amazing feature – most bondage kits that my boyfriend and I had looked at either had a buckle-type closure or a pull-closure. My boyfriend and I discussed the pull closure and thought that it would be more applicable once we established the rules of bondage play.
We only hoped that the cuffs would hold up against my struggle when things got intense.
I felt so sexy having the cuffs on and they were durable enough to stand being linked to a bedpost. My boyfriend blindfolded me with a black scarf and slowly slipped the links on my hands, being careful to barely touch my skin as he put them on. He clicked them around my wrists, but not tight enough to cut off the circulation. The idea that I was helpless to his touch was erotic, and on top of being blindfolded I nearly came before he started rubbing my clit. Being blindfolded and unable to do anything but moan and pull against the bedpost made me cum harder than I had in a long, long time.
These are the first handcuffs I saw the safety feature that enabled the dominant partner to release the cuffs quickly. Even if you don’t have a bedpost to put the cuffs around, use your imagination and I’m sure you’ll think of something!

Follow-up commentary

The safety issue with metal is a huge problem for my boyfriend and me. We used the cuffs a few weeks ago and he ended up with some deep bruises on his wrists. Although we both know about the risk of metal and bruising, I never imagined how bad the bruising would be.
After this experience we decided to try something new (and different) for bondage play.
I purchased a pair of Japanese silk rope cuffs (similar to the Japanese silk bondage rope except with adjustable loop-holes for hands and feet). I ordered a product called the Japanese silk love rope black wrist cuffs.
The quick-release option and safety features of cloth make me feel at ease with our bondage play.
I'd recommend silk rope or Velcro releases on bondage gear for beginners and a safe word for immediate stopping if either partner is uncomfortable.
Have fun!

Best Type of Cuffs

So I've been looking for a great pair of cuffs that are not only easy to use, but can stand up to a lot of hard wear and tear. I'm torn between cuffs that are soft/fuzzy on the inside and legitimate metal cuffs. Does anyone have really good or really bad experience with either?

Honestly, I have a thick, leather pair of fur lines cuffs that I got in New York and I haven't seen anything else that compare. I'm just not crazy about those metal cuffs. They hurt, even with the fuzzy inside. I'll be less likely to struggle if put in metal cuffs, because of the pain. i hate 'em.
