My awesome "LUT" paddle

The Impressions paddle slut is a quality paddle that feels great and, with some effort, can leave awesome red SLUT marks on your skin. It has a few minor flaws, but nothing that makes me not want to use it. It's well made, and it's fun and easy to use.

Use

The Impressions paddle slut from Sportsheets is a sexy looking, black leather paddle with the word "SLUT" carved into it backwards (so it looks more like "TULS"). The idea here is that wherever the paddle hits, it will leave a nice, big, red "SLUT" mark on the skin. This is basically my first toy of this kind (my very first being a cheap rubber flogger that came in a cheap BDSM kit, so I don't count it), so my thoughts on it are that of a beginner. That said, this paddle would seem to be good for beginners and advanced users alike. I mean, who wouldn't enjoy giving or receiving a big, stinging slut mark somewhere on their bodies? Well, okay, some people may not, but...you get the point.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

The paddle is made of black leather, with the impact portion being split in three parts: the side with SLUT carved into it, a piece of thick red paper, and the smooth side. This end is approximately 2 1/4" wide. The whole paddle is about 1/4" thick and 12 inches long from end to end, with the handle making up around 7" of the length and the business end making up about 5".


The handle, at its narrowest point, is around 1 1/4" wide. The handle is sewn in black thread with 1/8" stitches, and it says "Sportsheets" in the center. There is a hole with a metal ring on the end of the handle, which holds the 5" long cloth loop for hanging the paddle or wrapping around the wrist. The red paper is pretty bright and is there to make the SLUT engraving stand out from the black back of the paddle. It seems fairly secure, but it could probably be torn or wrinkled easily. The slut paddle is visually appealing and seems well made and sturdy. The carved letters don't have sharp or rough edges, so they don't cause any unpleasant kind of pain.

Performance

This paddle works really well, as far as delivering stingy, thuddy blows, but getting the red SLUT mark on the skin can be a little bit difficult. With a light touch, this paddle can feel just little stingy, but it won't really leave any marks, aside from some general redness. When wielded more heavy-handedly, this paddle can have anyone writhing in pain with a big red SLUT on his/her skin.

The problem I had was that you have to hit really hard, or over and over again in one place, to get any letters to show up. When you do get a mark, it's usually only the "LUT" or "UT" parts of the word. The handle isn't really long enough, so the "S", which is closest to the handle, can get lost. Any way you use it, though, this paddle is loud. Not only do you get the slapping noise from the paddle hitting skin, but the clapper kind of design of the impact part gives a loud slapping noise, as the two pieces of leather smack against each other. This can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on what you prefer.

Care and Maintenance

This paddle can be cleaned by wiping down with a damp cloth, using mild soap if needed. You can store it hanging by the loop on the handle, or just store it in your favorite toy storage place. Be careful not to be too rough with storage, as the red paper is, well...paper. It could be crinkled up fairly easily, though the two leather parts surrounding it should be enough to protect it in most cases.

Personal comments

My boyfriend is not much for pain, so I have only gotten to wield the paddle once myself (with a sneak attack to my boyfriend's bottom). It was fun, but he wasn't as amused by it as I was.

My boyfriend has mostly used this paddle on my ass, though we did use it in a few other places for review purposes. On my ass, it takes either one really hard whack or several lighter ones for any red marks to appear, and even harder ones for letters to appear. On my thighs, it didn't take as much effort to produce the same effect, but my thighs are also more sensitive, so I haven't done much of this. I tried it on the fleshy part of my arm, just for the hell of it, and found it very easy to produce marks. The pain on my arm, however, was way too much. I'm definitely not trying that one again.

My boyfriend absolutely loves the slut paddle; I originally got it because he wanted to try it so badly. He especially likes to grab it when I'm not paying attention and land a hard whack to my bottom. Now that we have this paddle, I've found he's getting into being dominant more often, which is a huge plus for me.

Experience

The Impressions paddle slut is my first paddle, but I don't feel like I'll need to replace it any time soon. It's attractive, well made, and does what it's supposed to do. I love the feel of it (unless my boyfriend gets a little too overzealous with it), and the look of the SLUT mark on my skin is an instant turn-on. It can be difficult to get all the letters to actually show up, but with a little careful positioning and some hard whacks, it gives the effect I want it to.

    • I am going to buy one of the two and what one would be better?
    • Depends on what you are looking for, i find floggers to be better for teasing, while paddles better for pain.
    • They give 2 very different sensations. A paddle tends to give sharper strikes (after you work up to it) and a flogger is generally used to work a person up slowly to a heightened state where their endorphines are pumping and they can take more. Like a prep.
