Mini crop top system by Sportsheets - review by Mistress M.

The Mini Crop Top System by Sportsheets is a riding crop that has a detachable top. It is commonly used for flogging, and with the design of this toy, anyone could be comfortable for using it. I personally used it for flogging, but as you will see later in this review, that it fell drastically short of my expectations.

The Mini Crop Top system is made of Faux-leather. It only comes in black. The total length of this crop is 22 inches, and it weighs about 6.5 oz. It has a width of 1 and 1/2 inches. The detachable top piece of the crop is interchangeable, though I am not impressed with the design at all. You simply slide the detachable end into the shaft of the crops base. There isn't really anything to 'secure' it, and if you hold it in your hand, and wiggle it, the head of the crop visibly moves around and wiggles. I think that if it had a 'screw in' attachment instead of the 'slide in' attachment, the toy could have been made much better. I will explain my reasoning for this in the performance section.

I was taught how to flog and spank by an ex-dominatrix. Having stated this, when I pick up a crop or a flogger and take it to someone, I can pack quite the 'smack' with them. When I saw that the top would wiggle like it did, I was concerned about it's performance. Once I went to actually use this crop, the concern was validated. I began to spank a submissive with the crop. During one of my swings, I managed to loose the head of this riding crop flat out just before it made contact. So instead of being hit with the Faux-leather head, they got grazed by the metal tube of the shaft. It was incredibly disappointing.

What I did to solve this was I wrapped several layers of tape around the joint of the riding crop, and it performs perfectly now. However, if I ever want to change the top piece out, it will be incredibly hard to do so as I will have to undo the layers of tape.

I may have gotten a 'dysfunctional' crop. However, it does not change the fact that what I thought was going to be an amazing piece of BDSM equipment, especially with all the other wonderful reviews, that I ended up with something less then par.

I cannot say I would recommend this crop to anyone without warning them about the issue I had with the head of the crop. It is definitely something to keep in mind. However for the price one can't argue too much about the performance or design of the crop.
