Right off the bat, I knew there was going to be a slight problem reviewing these. They're definitely too small for my lover's dick. He's a girthy boy, and we already know that condoms with an unstretched diameter of less than 1.5 inches aren't comfortable for him. (or as he puts it, they strangle him.) Thus, I am forced to write this review without testing them on a flesh-and-blood penis.

The Playboy Lubricated Dotted condoms come in a package with a pull out pamphlet with thorough directions for use, which means that unlike some condom brands, you don't have to destroy the box in order to read the directions. The foil wrappers have a clearly marked "tear here" area, and they open cleanly and easily, which will save time when it comes time to go for a condom.

The Lubrication on the Playboy Lubricated Dotted condoms has only a faint flavor to it, they mostly taste like latex, so they wouldn't be unpleasant to use for safer oral sex. The scent of the condoms themselves is something vaguely nutty mixed with the scent of latex. Given how difficult it was to remove the lube from my fingers, I'm assuming it's probably silicone based. The lube is vaguely sticky, difficult to remove from skin and other materials, and leaves a vaguely slimy residue. (I'm reminded of a slug, to be honest.) The condoms are lubricated both inside and out for the comfort of both partners.

The Playboy Lubricated Dotted Condoms are a standard reservoir tip shape, with straight sides all the way down. They don't have any kind of gradation to allow more head room, so they may not be comfortable on all penis shapes. Starting just below the "head" area of the condom, they have a series of thicker circular areas of latex that make up the "dots" of the texture. They're very thin, and it seems to me that they'd likely be more noticeable to the penis having partner than the vagina having partner. They seem slightly more noticeable for anal penetration than for vaginal, although if you're sensitive to texture they might be more noticeable. It seems that since the texture is built into the condom instead of raised from the surface, it would cause less irritation than some, although this is my first experience with textured condoms so I'm not 100% sure how most textures are created.

The unstretched diameter of the Playboy Lubricated Dotted Condoms is 1.25 inches, about the same size as a standard Trojan ENZ. The unstretched length from the tip of the reservoir to the very bottom of the unrolled condom is about 7.5 inches. As I said, it was neither wide enough, nor long enough to fit my partner properly, and although a condom will stretch to vast lengths and widths, a good fit is important both for the comfort of the penis having individual wearing it and to prevent tears, because an overstretched condom is more likely to break.

It seems to me, however, that due to the texture and the fairly neutral flavor, that they could possibly add to the oral sex experience should protection be desired.

They should fit anyone whose penis falls into the average range, but if the individual varies from that range, I suggest seeking a better fit for better protection.
