Looks a Lot More Exciting than They Feel

A lover of textured condoms? Playboy has that for you too with their "dotted" variety. The studded texture can add extra pleasure for the receiver. Their shape and size aren't the greatest, though. If you are well endowed, these probably won't work well for you.

If you didn't know already, Playboy launched their very own condom line! They've got just about one of every type that you'd want or need. This particular Dotted Condom is a studded type with a raised texture. As far as their shape goes, they are pretty average which means the shape won't add to your pleasure. The texture might if you are sensitive to that. If you already know that textured condoms work for you, you will likely enjoy these as well.

Compared to average condoms:

This condom has an exciting texture, but not an exciting shape. Unfortunately, Playboy just took the typical uncontoured tube shape and added some studs to it.

The average condom thickness is .0027" which is what this condom is. However, due to the texture, this condom will feel even thicker and won't allow the male to have any heightened sensitivity. These condoms are designed for higher female sensation anyways. The studded texture isn't any more pronounced than that of Durex of Trojan condoms. I love the texture on those condoms, so I naturally like this one too. It isn't for anyone, though. I can't imagine it being too much for anyone, but it won't be felt be everyone.

These condoms are about 7.5" long. This measurement and all but the head measurement were taken to the best of my ability and compared physically against condoms that have confirmed measurements from their manufactures (still waiting to hear back from the Playboy condom site...). This condom is average and standard for length, so if you require a Magnum or XL condom, this will most likely be too short for you, especially if you are girthy. The reservoir tip is larger than standard Durex ones, but is still not large enough to satisfy us. It's possible that cum can dins it's way out the top of the condom if it doesn't fit properly.

The head of these condoms is about 2.1" wide. I measured this flat with a tape measure about 1/2" below the tip. The box says 54mm which is roughly 2.13", but I measured it to be a tad smaller. The head on these condoms is pretty average and will not be enjoyable for those with larger heads because it can reduce the friction needed for added sensitivity in the nerve packed area.

For a typical condom, the average shaft and base width is 2". This condom has the same width down the entire shaft, so it is a little larger still being 2.1". For those who are used to Durex style condoms, they might notice a difference here. The band might not cut in as much and condom might slide a bit more equaling better friction. If you are a guy on the slim side make sure to pay attention to the base of the condom so it doesn't slip off.

These condoms are made of latex but the smell is lower than I'm used to. The lubrication is water based and not at all impressive. There isn't enough of it and it doesn't travel to the end of the condom, just like the texture, it ends about an 1 1/2" up from the base. I needed to add more lubricant of my own. It also is only on the outside of the condom.

They come in a black foil wrapper that says Playboy condoms on it with their signature bunny logo. I really like the package and the wrappers because they are easy to open and the black and red color scheme is lusciously sinful looking. The box also includes a small pamphlet with instructions of how to put a condom on. It also includes safety information. Each condom has its own expiration date printed on the package which is approximately four years from when it is made. Mine expire in 05/2015.

Experience
This condom doesn't fit my partner all that well, so I prefer to use it on toys. I really like the texture but hate that it ends where it is most important. The first inch or two of the vagina has a lot more sensitivity to texture. If you want to add some texture to your trusty old toys, this can be an easy and cheap way to do it without buying a new toy. And as long as your partner isn't above average size, especially in girth, these can be used to heighten female arousal as well, but don't expect them to do wonders.
Follow-up commentary
We've used up the two boxes we had of these, but we won't be purchasing more. I'd recommend them for others, but their dimensions don't enhance sex for us.

Awesome review, thanks! I have these same condoms and had been trying to figure out what kind of lube it has on it. How did you find out that the lubrication is water-based?
  • Contributor: ~LaUr3n~
Mostly experience and the double checking of various websites. Usually it is always water unless it is listed. I've never seen a silicone based one that wasn't listed on the package.
