The snaps could be perhaps some sort of locking to keep toys held on.
The best quality of the strap on is the ability to switch sizes of the o rings to change the size of the toy being used, the straps that secure the toy are nice and long for easy adjustment to fit anyone using it, though it was tough at first to get the toys to sit right and feel good for my girlfriend. It worked well for the role reversal that is was used for. The vibrator sits in an odd position for my girl sometimes as well, says it digs into her if I am on top riding her.
The strap on is great for anyone, the strap on is cute with the velvet corsette. It looks and feels great, the vibrator doesn't make much noise, but is positioned at the very back next to the wearer, and doesn't vibe very hard through the toys. One down is the snaps on the rings tend to come undone during rough play, but other than that there are no complaints. The soft velvet around the outside of the strap on looks and feels great.

Experience
Had it used on me, we were able to start out small and now have worked up to the biggest ring and bigger toys. my girlfriend is addicted and on some nights would rather fuck me than me fuck her. She loves the role reversal and we both were not into anal before this product, but has now turned both of us.

Anyone know if this fits narrow hips well?

I've got pretty thin hips, 30-ish. It seems these things always have a "fits up to" but not a "down to" measurement. I've had a difficult time with harnesses in the part that were too big.

I'm assuming the straps on the side are the area that's adjustable. It looks like if you shrunk it in all the way on those, it would be smaller than 30". I'm not sure whether that would be the right proportions, though.

The product description says the harness fits hips up to 60". I did a little research, and found that sizes 1x-2x typically coordinate with hip sizes of 46"-52".
In other words, you should be just fine with this harness! :) -

the vibrations are controlled via a bullet vib, and is placed in a little pouch between the dildo and person wearing it. so both people can feel the vibs, the only thing is with some positions it can sometimes give discomfort to the person wearing.
the harness doesn't have any learning curve, its really quite easy, the only thing is getting the straps to behave, a little sizing, they come nice and long for plenty of adjustments. its unbelievably easy to take care of, and it will i believe in stock form fit up to 60" hips, which means plenty of size for most everyone.
