Not Just for Blooming Bellies! Great for Everyone!
Blooming Belly Balm and Healing Salve is a great skin product for the whole family! Great for everything from moisturizing skin to softening scar tissue!Published: March 31, 2011
Pros:
Organic ingredients, softens scar tissue, nice smell, good moisturizer, little goes a long way.
Cons:
A little expensive for 3 ounces but I still think it's worth it!
Blooming Belly Balm and Healing Salve by Sensuous Beauty is far and away my favorite skin product these days! I can’t say enough good things about this stuff! I will admit I have not used it much for stretch marks. The sad truth about stretch marks is they are basically genetic. You are predestined to get them so you can do lots of nice things for your skin but it really won’t keep them from showing up for make them go away. That said, you can never be too nice to your skin.
I actually decided to try this stuff for a different reason. I have sensitive skin and find myself prone to both hypertrophic and keloid scarring. A friend told me she had tried this balm on an old surgery scar and it did wonders to soften the scar tissue. I have an unsightly scar on my arm from a blemish and a horrible scar on my navel from a rejected navel ring. They are scars I’ve learned to live with but I would love to get rid of them.
I’ve been using this balm for only a few weeks now and I’ve already noticed my scars softening a bit. The one on my arm is actually a little smaller and flatter! I’m not unrealistic, I don’t think my scars will go away completely but anything that minimizes them makes me happy!
The balm is also a fabulous after shower moisturizer. It does have organic olive oil and essential oils so you want to make sure it’s rubbed in really well or you’ll be slippery. A tiny bit goes a very long way so even though the price is a little high (for me anyway), the jar will last you a good long while.
It’s still wintery and rainy here so I haven’t used it for a sunburn yet but I have used it for minor cuts and for the eczema on my fingers. It’s really fabulous for helping to prevent scarring with cuts and does wonders for the dry skin that comes along with eczema.
I would highly recommend this to everyone whether for stretch marks, general skin health, or just a little pampering! I have already ordered several more jars to give out for upcoming baby showers, birthdays and any other gift giving occasions.
I really enjoy the smell of it, it’s not too strong, sorta plant-like but not too flowery. I put some on my partner and he wasn’t too bothered by the smell. He said it wasn’t too “girly”. I put some on my dad’s old surgical scar as well and he was not offended by the smell either.

Well, I don't know that this has really done anything significant for stretch marks or for scars. Certainly not for stretch marks. But it has become one of my favorite moisturizers. I use it pretty much daily!

An odd question....
-
I have been looking at this for a while and wondering how well it works on scars.
Has anyone tried this out? -
I haven't tried it yet myself but I have read some reviews on it. If my general knowledge is correct (and it very well might not be), stretch marks are a kind of scar, and the reviews seem to indicate that it might fade existing ones some, but is more to prevent new ones from forming.
