Kinda Bo-ring
Well, now we know why they call this a "pleasure object" instead of a ring. I have enjoyed using disposable vibrating cock rings in the past, so I thought a higher-quality rechargeable version might be a nice investment. Unfortunately, I find the vibrations to be a bit weak, and I am not convinced this product is worth the high price.Published: January 11, 2012
Pros:
Rechargeable, made from high-quality materials, comes with storage case
Cons:
Weak vibrations for the price, case doesn't fit the ring very well
This is a rechargeable vibrating cock ring from Lelo. It charges using the same wall plug as most Lelo vibes, which is handy if you're a Lelo collector. It comes in the lovely black Lelo box that we all love so much. It also comes with a little case which is very discreet, and theoretically you can charge it while it's in the case. Neat idea, but I don't find the case fits very well- I have to wrangle with it a bit to work.
The Bo is made from two pieces that activate the vibrator when fitted together: a stretchy TPE ring and an ABS vibrator. I got it in the navy blue, which is almost black. Both materials are body safe, but not disinfectable like silicone. The vibrator must be cleaned with a toy wipe as it is not waterproof (though you could safely wash the ring portion in the sink). There is no off/on switch, you need to slide the pieces apart to turn it off. The next generation Lelo cock ring Tor apparently does have buttons, variable speeds, etc. if that's an issue for you. The soft, almost sticky-feeling ring is 1 1/8" unstretched, but can be stretched up to 3" in my experience, and can be fit around both the cock and balls if desired. The ring is kind of hollowed out on the inside when unstretched, and flattens when stretched. The vibrator is trapezoid shaped, 1.25" at its widest point, and .5" tall and .5" wide, made from hard, matte plastic.
To use the ring you may want to put a bit of lube on first, so the ring doesn't stick to skin or hair. It can be worn around just the cock, cock and balls, or a dildo (to turn a dildo into a "rabbit"). You can position the vibe facing up for clitoral stimulation during sex, or facing down to stimulate either the taint (area between ass and balls) or the grundle (area between cock and balls), as we classy ladies call it! The vibe bit can be detached and used as a bullet vibe by holding down the button on the underside. You would probably not want to use the cock ring without the vibe, as the vibe mount might be kind of scratchy.
I have enjoyed using the disposable vibrating cock rings from the Screaming O, and was excited to try something rechargeable and a bit more high end. However, I can't say I'm convinced the Bo is worth paying 5-6 times the price of a Screaming O Ring for a product that, while longer-lasting, doesn't necessarily perform better. I tested mine side by side with the Big O Ring to see if the Bo really was better.
Honestly, the Bo doesn't outstrip the Big O in power, at all. Yes, it has more staying power, but the strength of the vibration is not stronger than the battery operated ones. It's a nice little buzz, but I wouldn't bother using it as a bullet on its own (especially since it's inconvenient to hold down the button). To give you some indication of how weak this thing is, it's probably less than half the power of the Nea, the Lelo that many folks complain about being not powerful enough. I am also not crazy about the shape and hardness for use during sex- it can be painful to have this little squarish rock mashing into your lady bits during intercourse.
I have tested the bo with a sex partner, solo, and for teasing/cock torture. For sex, I probably enjoyed this this most for woman on top, when I could control the movements (I still would have preferred using a stronger vibe by hand). It was damn near impossible to position correctly for missionary and didn't give my partner any added hardness (he has some erectile issues due to a medication he takes). I haven't tried it for doggy style yet, so I am definitely willing to experiment with it more, but I'd say it would be more of a question of trying to get my money's worth, rather than being excited to pull it out of the toy box.
It's sort of fun to use solo with a dildo as a "rabbit" but again, more of an experiment than a go-to.
The bottom line for why I don't recommend the Bo is that I am not satisfied with the incredible weak vibrations for the price. You can get an equally effective toy for much less money.

Experience
As a kinkster, I have enjoyed using the Bo to torture my sub. I put it on and making him wear it with the vibe against his balls as a form of long term teasing. It is very quiet, and could probably be worn in public as long as it was somewhere with some background noise, but it would be more convenient if it were easier to turn off and on. I also like to use the ring to strap a longish bullet vibe to the underside of his cock. So, it is a versatile toy if you use your imagination.
Follow-up commentary

I've used this a few times during intercourse with my partner, it just doesn't line up properly, or its just distracting. I still don't think this toy is great enough to justify the high price.

Need to know...

Is this realy all it's cracked up to be, or should I just tape a bullet vibe to my balls and call it a day. Because the motor on this thing doesn't look any bigger then your average $20 cock ring, and yet it's over 3 times that. It just seems like a rip off for a so called luxury sex toy thats nothing more then a stretchy band with a rechargeable vibe attached.
-
I think the cost is mostly because it's rechargeable, and not necessarily because it's something super revolutionary.

My boyfriend and I have this. I like it because it's made of non-porous material, and it's rechargeable. You can re-use it a lot more than the jelly rings that uses bullets operated by watch batteries.
Personally I am not a big fan of vibrating rings in general. I wanted to experiment. I hate porous material and watch batteries. Lelo bo then became a very obvious choice.
The vibration from bo is not very rumbly, it's pretty buzzy. It's more of a tease during intercourse. We don't use it often though.

My husband and I are looking to invest in a nice ring now that we know we like them....ALOT, so which 1 is better and why ????

happy wife, there is a wonderful function on this site that allows you to compare items side-by-side. To the right of the image on the product page and below the "Add to cart" button is a button that says "Add to comparison". After you add each of the items from their product page, you can click the "Compare" button along the very top of the site, in the center. That way you can look at the differences between the two all by yourself.

Is the BO really wonderful?
-
I've heard a lot of people loving and wanting the BO. I just got mine. Haven't played with it extensively yet or with my partner, but I have some general issues with it. So far, I'm definitely disappointed in a product from Lelo at this price. Any one else feel the same? I'll review it when the time is right!

Well, I do know some people have had mixed experiences which whether or not it actually stimulates/reaches the clit. Heh

What do you mean, "I'm definitely disappointed in a product from Lelo at this price"? It's cheaper than most of Lelo's other products...
what are your issues with it?
