A "Little" Kama Sutra Lovin'

Book by Anne Hooper

Published: August 4, 2008
useful review
This is a nice "little" addition to one's sexual library. It is compact for the couple on the go and contains tasteful pictures and descriptions of positions found in the Kama Sutra, The Perfumed Garden and from Taoist practices.
Pros:
Compact for easy storage and travel with tasteful pictures and descriptions.
Cons:
A bit expensive for the size and content.
Rating by reviewer:
This toy was definitely designed
Basically, this book is a pocket guide to not only the Kama Sutra, but also contains information and positions from the Ananga Ranga, The Perfumed Garden and Taoist practices. It is definitely geared toward heterosexual couples; there is no mention of adapting for homosexual couples or for more-than-the-typical-two-person sex-capade. There are two sides, the “front” contains the positions from the female perspective with 48 different positions, while if you flip it over, you get the male perspective with 47 different positions - a couple of the positions overlap, but not too many. The book is divided up into three sections on each side by the origination of the positions: the Kama Sutra, The Perfumed Garden, and Taoist sexual practices, with an introduction to each that lists and explains the background and, to an extent, their modern relevancy.

I found that this book offered a few unique positions that I had not come across before, however, I have never had or looked at a book on sexual positions before, with the exception of Kama Sutra. The pictures were quite tasteful and were erotic without being overly pornographic (there were breasts, but no genitalia). It is quite small and is easy to store in a nightstand, overnight bag, or suitcase or to hide about the house as a surprise for your mate (fits quite well between the couch cushions… ;)). Overall, I liked the book, but decided that a lot of the positions were somewhat intuitive, meaning I have come across them without me or my partners actually needing the book (or any other book or movie) to perform them.

Overall, we had fun with this book. I think it is a nice addition to our small sexual library and hope to get into enough shape using the easier positions to do some of the more difficult ones.

No genitalia? That seems tasteful... but I kinda need to see the parts to understand how they go. I realize sex is self explanatory but some positions just require being able to view HOW what goes where.

I like the flip-over format idea!  Too cute!
