Jessica Drake's Guide To Wicked Sex: Fellatio - erotic video by Wicked Pictures - review by Champagne and Benzedrine (Roland Hulme)

Let's face it - the "how to" sex video genre is pretty much owned by Tristan Taormino. She quite literally wrote the book on the subject of how-to sex guides, and then turned said book into a wildly popular series of DVDs and videos.

So porn veteran Jessica Drake throwing her hat into the ring was a bold move. Not only have 'how-to' videos about oral sex been done several times, very successfully, but Jessica Drake is best known as a porn star and doesn't have the sex educator credentials Tristan does.

So knowing that - how does her offering fare?

Jessica opens with a warm and fluid introduction to fellatio, and then we see examples of her techniques in action at the hands (and mouths) of some of her porn-veteran colleagues. It's almost a blow-by-blowjob recreation of other sex education videos - only done with a bit more 'porn flair' than is perhaps normal.

But in all honesty, such a technique falls rather flat. Having seen many of these stars in erotic couplings before, it's actually kind of inhibiting to see them quite literally "perform" for the camera; and the fellatio we're treated to seems a little matter-of-fact and by-the-book compared to other how-to sex guides. It doesn't help that the scenes are also startlingly short. In fact, the whole DVD seems to be over in the blink of an eye.

None of which helps; but is at least compensated for by the very attractive "sex educators" putting their talents to work in front of the camera lens; and the capable, if somewhat cold, delivery.

Ultimately, viewers will probably be left feeling somewhat disappointed. The DVD's not quite solid enough to be really compelling sex education, nor erotic enough to work as satisfactory pornography. Caught half way between one genre and the other, it never really succeeds in either.
