Pocket Kama Sutra - book discontinued by DK ADULT - review by Aliki

This was a pretty exciting thing for me to get into. I'm always at the bookstore wanting to go down the isle with all the Kama Sutra books in it, but I am a little too shy to do so. The Pocket Kama Sutra is perfect because of its size.

It's easy to fit into smaller purses (yes, I tried to fit it into all my bags). The pages are fully detailed without being risque. It's very tasteful, especially for someone like me who hasn't been exposed to the art and concepts of Kama Sutra before. It is also full of useful information and essentially is a wonderful learning tool or an extension of knowledge you may already have.

The book is very intuitive with detailed chapters covering partner-interactive body cleansing and mind preparation, different body area massage techniques, setting the mood with lighting suggestions, scent suggestions, and even kissing, foreplay, and afterplay ideas I've not thought of. It outlines suggested erogenous zones for men and women and gives tips and information about these sensitive areas. Included also is the main point of the book, positions: man on top positions, woman on top positions, and tips on how to change various positions without being apart from your partner and having to penetrate a second time to achieve another desired pose.

Although this book is mainly for heterosexual couples, there are certainly things that would satisfy a homosexual relationship as well. Of course, the main focus and philosophy of this text seems to be about imagination, which in today's world is easy to get detached from, so it helps with getting back into the simplistic and enjoyable reasons for lasting love making and relationship bonding through touch and understanding your partner as well as yourself. It helps you to leave your inhibitions and desire to satisfy quickly as the book outlines partner bonding.

Overall, I give the book five out of five stars. This book can easily be read over and over again, learned from, read with or to your partner, etc. I'm surprised in its size with how much information it holds. Its purpose should be used as a manual to remedy boredom in the bedroom and to reconnect the closeness and sensuality two people should enjoy together. This book is also intuitive to feelings as it has left me full of wonder and excitement to see how someone will react to such detail and attentive care in wanting to prolong our experiences rather than finishing early and without meaning.

It's been some time since I've owned this book, and although I don't use it daily, I do get use out of it when eager to give a body massage, and experience sensual playtime by letting my boyfriend borrow the book as well.

I've already given my perspective on  the Pocket Kama Sutra, but have not yet expressed the views of my boyfriend.

He openly admits to enjoying the book from cover to cover, and also expresses the intention of using it as a reference to answer questions that may come up from time to time, such as how to please me, or perhaps looking for alternative ways in which to do so.

That is always nice for me! That way I don't have to MAKE him read, he wants to on his own.

It just makes it a pain in the butt to have to try to find the book, after he's been gawking at it (it's usually in the bathroom ladies).

It makes a great conversation piece, as most of my friends ask me for advice on certain matters which I cannot easily answer ( they just talk to me because I'm an open person... hehe) and having this book around definitely does the talking for me every now and then.

I still rate this a 5/5; it's not something you can get bored with, nor to me is it something I've memorized despite its small volume.

It's more of a book to help you explore your interests and personality, as well as your imagination!
