Expensive But Worth It

This is a real luxury type product. It works amazingly well, smells wonderful, and removes all traces of smoke from the scalp and hair, but it's a situation of you get what you pay for! I really love this product and will probably continue to purchase it in the future, but it is very expensive for what you get unless what you are looking for is soft, silky, manageable hair.

Use

Terme Tresses Shampoo by Principessa Beauty is a low foaming, salon quality shampoo. This isn't a shampoo that will foam up and give you tons of bubbles but it will clean the hair of all styling product buildup without stripping your hair of all it's natural oils.

If you have a problem with your hair developing a dry, lank, lackluster look after a few washes and dries, then it will do you good to have a clarifying shampoo that won't cause more damage. Terme Tresses is just such a shampoo.

The ingredients for this product are high quality but relatively benign and shouldn't cause any allergic reactions in most users. Even getting an eyeful of this shampoo won't cause immense irritation; just a simple rinse will stop the slight burn. I have used this on my toddler and it was as gentle as Johnson and Johnson's Baby Shampoo.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This shampoo has a luxurious texture that almost looks like some cheaper conditioners. It is pearl white and is fairly easy to pour. It feels very similar to the BioInfusion Hydrating Shampoo I normally use, but to work properly it takes just a fraction of the amount I normally use.

It feels light, and the foam it produces has a very small bubble ratio and feels silky, light. It feels exactly the same as my hairdresser's preferred shampoo and works just as well.

Taste / Aroma

Terme Tresses tastes just like shampoo, nothing terribly horrible but I wouldn't recommend trying to eat the stuff.

The aroma is unisex and complex. It is spicy and clean smelling but not unappealing even to Sigel. The aroma leaves the hair smelling clean and very lightly perfumed for hours after the hair dries. The scent isn't over powering, and I had to really lean in to smell it on Sigel.

The shampoo will also remove the smell of smoke picked up from second hand smoking, which is very nice for non-smokers.

The shampoo reminds me of the smell of a high end salon most of all.

Performance

The bottle contains 12 fl. oz of product. I normally use this shampoo twice to three times a week as I don't wash my hair everyday. My hair is shoulder length and it usually takes just over a quarter sized puddle to adequately shampoo my hair. This product doesn't foam heavily, so the user will do well to really work it into the hair and scalp without expecting lots of large bubbled foam.

I have used the product now for two weeks, plus having asked Sigel to use it a couple of times, and I have only used about 1/4th of the bottle!

The product washes out cleanly and leaves the hair silky and manageable, but clean. I have severely dry hair, and I was really impressed by the way my hair was easy to comb my fingers through, even though I still needed conditioner to further the smoothness.

This is a really great shampoo for smell, cleaning and the fact that you don't need to use that much; however, it is extremely pricy for what you get. I found this to be a very great clarifying shampoo but it's a bit strong for my hair, which is damaged by hypothroidism and coloring. Though it is billed as a softening shampoo, and it worked amazingly for Sigel, my hair needs a more hydrating shampoo. I generally use the Terme Tresses about every third shampoo and my hair looks amazing.

Packaging

The Terme Tresses shampoo comes in a vibrant pink plastic bottle with a white label. The top is flip top which is easy to use in the shower. The bottle is flexible enough to squeeze out the perfect amount of product. It is suitable for travel though a bit large for carry on luggage in airports.

Though the bottle is pink, the scent is by no means 'girly'. Sigel found it to be pleasant and gender neutral enough to be used by even the most masculine guy!

The packaging urges the user to apply generously to damp hair but I respectfully counter that the user doesn't need to use a 'generous' amount. If the user is willing to work the shampoo in fully it won't take a whole lot of product.

The packaging is fully recyclable.

Special Features

This is a very creamy and soft feeling shampoo, and the lather is extremely dense. It will clean your scalp amazingly well if worked in well, and it took care of a slight dry scalp and dandruff problem I had been developing.

Personal comments

My hair can be brittle, knots easily, and is just recovering from some very harsh dye jobs. After receiving some very great advice from my salon professional, I decided to give this shampoo a good and fair trial. After taking a look at the ingredients, he told me that in his opinion this was a low foam type shampoo and showed me about how much I should use per wash. His advice was absolutely spot on!

The product has silk, soy, wheat and oat proteins that wrap around the hair shaft and truly does leave hair silky and soft as well as manageable. It has a luxurious feel to it when it foams and after it washes away, but it is very, very expensive for the amount of product you receive.

I will continue to use the product three to four times a month because I like the feel of my hair after I use the product, but I won't use it as an everyday shampoo, it's just too expensive.

Experience

I LOVE this product but I have a really hard time justifying the price! The truth, when all is said and sifted, is my 33.8 fl. oz BioInfusion Professional shampoo is the same price as the Terme Tresses. I use about the same amount of product and it leaves my hair in damn near the same silky soft and manageable condition. Still, I do think that everyone should have something they do to pamper themselves, so I will probably be buying this product again once it runs out.
Follow-up commentary
I was really taken with this shampoo when I received it. After finding out that my favorite salon product company is, once again, selling the shampoo and conditioner that makes my hair like silk, I have cooled in my ardor. Sorry Principessa Beauty, but I can get three times the product for the same price.
