Use

This Body Massage Lotion from Sensuous Beauty is a nice massage lotion and moisturizer. It is a little pricy for the amount you get, but it is worth it considering it is very long lasting, and overall a great product to pamper yourself with. I chose the Enchanted Amber scent, but you can also get it in Sweet Woods, Lavender, Rapturous Rose, Come Hither, and Violet Tangerine.

As stated on the bottle, this stuff is made with: Organic sunflower oil, distilled water, beeswax, wild crafted cocoa butter, Enchanted Amber blend of premium amber and pure essential oils, vitamin E and grapefruit seed extract.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is called a lotion, but it is actually very thick oil. It rubs in like a regular cream, and doesn’t leave any oily residue on my skin. It absorbs rather quickly, so you’ll have to keep reapplying for long lasting massages. I didn’t think I would like this lotion, but it doesn’t make my skin feel greasy or oily, so I never feel like running to the shower.

Taste / Aroma

I’m not exactly thrilled with the scent of the Enchanted Amber. To me, it smells like lemon tarts or grapefruit. Very bitter and fruity. I’m thinking the lavender scent would be a lot more pleasant. The lotion is very concentrated so the scent will last a long time. This isn’t meant for ingestion, and it probably doesn’t taste very good.

Performance

The instructions on the label say: “Nourishing organic oils and butters combine with sweet amber and warm citrus essential oils to create a rich, sensual lotion that moisturizes and scents skin, Exceptional for daily body care and massage. To enjoy: For daily moisturizing apply sparingly to body after bath shower or as desired. For massage apply lovingly to body as needed.”

Personally, I think this particular fragrance is too strong to be wearing out, but to each their own. I prefer to use this at night before going to bed. I still notice the scent for up to five hours after applying it, so this is by far the longest lasting scented massage oil I’ve tried. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something different, and don’t want an oil that will drip all over the place.

Packaging

This lotion comes in a glass bottle that holds 4 fl.oz (120 ml) with a handy pump top. The pump can lock in the down position so you can store it if you need to and it won’t leak. The label claims it is Organic, Synthetic and Paraben Free, and there is no Animal Testing. The bottle is well designed, and there’s nothing on it that’s inappropriate or offensive. It would make for a nice gift.
Follow-up commentary
I started using this as an everyday body moisturizer, so it didn't last me for a long time. I now use the bottle as a hand soap dispenser and it works really well for that because of the handy pump top.

The citrusy smell makes sense, since I remember seeing another reviewer say that there's patchouli and citrus oils in this scent. It's definitely nice to know that it isn't really a lotion. It sounds nice, though. Thanks for the review!

  • Sensuous Beauty Lotion Scents?
    • Has anyone tried the "Come Hither" scent? I'm really curious about what that one smells like. If you've tried the other scents let me know how you would describe the scent. I'm really curious!
