Disappointed...

If you are wanting a toy pouch in which to store your toys, this will work. If you are looking for a toy pouch to protect valuable glass treasures, this is not be the one you are after. For the price, there should be more than 1/4" of padding. This toy pouch isn't what I was hoping it would be.

extremely useful review
I like glass toys. I would say that currently, glass is my favorite material for toys, and the type of toy that I purchase the most often. The one bad thing about glass is that it can present some challenges as far as storage. I mean, whether you are spending $25, $40, $75, or more for a toy, you want to insure that it is going to be around for a while, and that it is not going to wind up smashed to bits. For me, that means storing my glass toys in a properly padded pouch. For a while now, I have been wondering if the Eden Toy Pouch would be the way to go. Since I have amassed a small collection of glass toys, some of which are in need of better homes, I decided to go ahead and give this one a try.

The Eden Toy Pouch is available in two colors: purple and black. The outside is a "Faux Suede Material" that is 100% polyester. It feels extremely nice to the touch. The pouch is lined with 100% cotton material, and covered with a 100% polyester "Satin Lining Cover." According to the product page, the logo on the front of the pouch is made from "high quality rhinestones and nail heads." The rhinestones are a yellow-green color, and they make up the word "Eden" with a double row of stones, and include the trademark Eden apple as the second "e." The nail heads are pink, and spell out "fantasys." Two black ropes act as drawstrings at the top of the pouch.

The toy pouch is 10 1/2" long, and 4 3/4" wide. As for thickness...well, it is about 1/4" thick. That means about 1/8 of an inch of material protecting each side of your prized possessions. Is that enough for you? Personally, I find it to be a bit lacking. I want more. What do I mean by more? Let me show you...

The first pouch - the red one - is an SSA Glass pouch that I received with my Amethyst. As you can tell, it is quite small, with measurements of 9" x 3" x 1/8". This makes it smaller than the Eden Toy Pouch, and practically useless. The second pouch is the Eden Toy Pouch. Third is the pouch that accompanied my Don Wands Rainbow Mega Nubby. Its measurements are 9" x 5" by a whopping 2 1/2"! Now that is more like it! With padding like that, I feel assured that my glass toys are safe from any possible damage. The last pouch is good for this as well. It was one that I picked up off of an ebay seller...measurements are 13 1/2" x 5" x 3".
Experience
The Eden Toy Pouch is pretty, and it fits the glass toys that I own, though it would not fit toys that are longer than 10 1/2 inches. It is okay, if all you are wanting is a place to store your toys to keep them clean and dust free. The lack of sufficient padding, however, is enough of an issue for me that I have to give it a two star rating. It seems to me that for the price, and given that Eden sells so many lovely glass items, Eden should offer a product that is capable of really protecting glass. I will use this one, but I won't buy more.
Follow-up commentary
I am still highly disappointed that an item that costs this much cannot be used to store and protect my glass items. It is useful for storing other items that do not need the extra padding though, so it isn't totally useless. It just doesn't do the job that I wanted it to do.

Aw I'll be taking this off my wish list now. I had no idea that they'd be so thin at that price. I'll have to check out the ebay shop you guys mentioned. Thanks for such a detailed review on this.

Yeah, I had no idea how thin it was going to be either. That's why I included the pictures. There are better choices out there - just not here

Great review and follow up! Sorry this was disappointing for you I can understand needing more padding for glass toys.

Thanks, DK. I am hoping that someday soon EF will offer more storage pouches designed specifically for glass. It is only logical, as they offer well over 100 glass toys for sale.
