extremely useful review
I bought the BonBon in Cherry last fall, and it's been a consistent source of joy. Here's why:

Use
I purchased my BonBon expressly for use with a dildo that has a flared, highly textured base. I knew that the toy would not fit into the BonBon's pocket, but I figured that the presence of the pocket would leave a small depression at the top of the toy and that the heft of my toy's base would be enough to keep it in place. I was right on both counts. In addition to having a slight concavity at the pocket, the top of the BonBon's foam core is slightly flat; the fabric covers obscure this fact.

I rarely use the BonBon as its designer(s) intended, i.e., with the compact base of a toy inserted into its pocket. Instead, I prefer to place toys with large bases (e.g., the Tantus Curve) atop the BonBon and grind on the base as I'm riding the toy.

Design, Craftsmanship, and Materials
Liberator makes quality products. The inner core of the BonBon is dense, high quality memory foam, and plastic laminate surrounds the riding surface and base; the ends are left uncovered so that air can circulate properly. The foam is surrounded by a zippered polyester inner cover and a zippered ultrasuede exterior cover. Both fabrics look and feel soft yet durable, the nylon zippers work smoothly, and the stitching is reinforced in all the right places. This little piece of furniture is built to last.

Performance
Thanks to the BonBon, several toys that were formerly in my "Meh" pile because they didn't feel particularly good when used in other positions have now been promoted to "All Time Favorites" -- as has the BonBon itself. When used with the right toys, the BonBon leaves me a shuddering, gasping mess.

I'm a big girl and I ride the BonBon pretty vigorously and every now and then I wish that the BonBon was just a bit taller; however, I've found that putting a phone book under the BonBon provides just the right amount of added height.

Prospective buyers who wish to use the BonBon with a vibrator should note that the pocket will likely make the vibrator's controls inaccessible. After one deeply frustrating experiment with a FunFactory Calla -- one of my favorite toys -- I decided that I would stick to using the BonBon with toys with large, grind-able bases.

I bought the BonBon for solo play, but given its size (9"x15"x12") and sturdiness, I expect that it would make a dandy positioning aid for partnered sex.

Packaging
The BonBon's packaging was minimalist: it came in a corrugated brown cardboard box, with only an illustrated paperboard band providing basic information about its care and uses, and a clear plastic bag that kept the BonBon and the paper band clean. I was able to re-purpose the cardboard box, and I shredded the band, which featured some mildly racy photographs.

Care and Maintenance
The BonBon is an easy-care product. I've machine-washed the covers (in a mesh lingerie bag) and placed them in the dryer (on low heat) several times, and they have retained their original size and shape.

Lube and bodily fluids will leave subtle marks on the Ultrasuede cover, but laundering will remove them.

Although some Liberator shapes can masquerade as furniture, the Liberator's toy pocket is a dead giveaway as to its real purpose. I store my Liberator in an opaque storage container that I bought at a big-box store.

Personal Comments
This toy has contributed to some mind-blowing orgasms, and I'm looking forward to years and years of joyous Liberator. However, a couple of cautions are in order:

1. Use this toy on a firm surface. I initially thought that the bed would be the ideal place for BonBon play. Big mistake. Riding the BonBon isn't like riding another human -- it weighs only a few pounds, is only 15" long, and doesn't have any muscle tone. It won't sink into the mattress and thus limit the movement of the bed springs, and it can't hold you up or pull you close if you bounce too enthusiastically.

2. Even when playing on a firm surface, make sure you can grab onto something -- a chair, a table -- if you start to lose your balance. As noted above, riding the Liberator isn't like riding a human, and it is possible to bounce with such enthusiasm that you'll fall forward with little warning. I always position my BonBon so that I'm about three feet away from a small end table. I've needed to brace myself several times while using the BonBon -- and several times while trying to get my shaking, giggling, post-orgasmic self off the floor
