Dream A Little Strawberry Crème!

As my first edible Kama Sutra product I am very impressed with the overall quality and versatility of this body soufflé. It works great for moisturizing my skin and smells delicious which often gives me cravings for strawberries. Better yet, use it with a partner for some sensual massaging that feels and smells good at the same time.

Use

As my first Kama Sutra brand product I have ever used, this has been a truly delightful experience so far! The Kama Sutra Body Soufflé is advertised for sensual massages but has so many other uses and applications for a wider group of people and situations. Don't feel limited to the product advertising, this body soufflé can be used not only for massaging, but as a general moisturizer. Even though this soufflé is kissable and edible, it is still intended for external use only! So as tempting as it may be to eat it by the spoon-full, I would limit it to kissing the skin after the soufflé has been absorbed. This makes this product great for couples who are looking for a versatile product they can massage and have play time with. I must point out that if you have any glycerin allergies or sensitivity then you will not want to purchase this product as it has plenty of it inside.

At 7.5oz this container should last awhile as a small amount seems to go far. However if you are generally the type of person to use these types of moisturizing products generously, you will find it will be used up fairly quick. I suppose it does not help with how good it smells too, you will want to just keep rubbing it into your skin. Generally for massaging you will need to re-apply often for long and sensual massages, however short massages one generous application should be enough for a 15 minute massage. My intended purpose for buying this product was not for massaging but just for all purpose full body moisturizing. If you don't mind the scents that are offered, this should make a great addition to your bath and body products. So all in all don't feel limited to using this with a partner or just by yourself, it can be a multi-purpose moisturizing product.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

After using various body soufflés in the past, I find the Kama Sutra brand to be the best feeling on my skin so far. Inside the container it is thick, creamy and of whipped consistency without an oily or greasy feeling to it. It is incredibly easy to use your fingers to remove some from the container, however one thing that I have noticed is that when my finger comes into contact with it at first, it forms a thin liquid barrier between my skin and the soufflé. This causes it to slide off the tip of my finger, so I generally have to use a scooping motion with my finger. I believe that because I generally have sweaty hands, that sweat prevents the soufflé from fully sticking and adhering to my finger tips. I did also hold the container upside down for 1 minute to see if anything would drip or fall out, but it stayed put.

Rubbing this soufflé into the skin is an amazing feeling of smooth creamy velvety goodness! It does thin slightly on the skin, but enough to easily spread it while rubbing it in. This does not feel like a cheap moisturizer at all and does not leave me any undesired sticky, oily or greasy residue to where I feel I need to shower off. I have not used this for long periods of time as far as massaging goes, but without frequent reapplication the soufflé can ball up on the skin. After I have rubbed this soufflé into my chest, arms, legs, shoulders and just about everywhere else, my body feels moisturized and quite pleasant. My only complaint however is that after I am done using this product, my palms become very sweaty, moist and wet feeling. I am the type of person who often gets sweaty palms, and this happens with quite a few products I have used for moisturizing. On a final note, my sister in law was visiting us right around the time of this review; I showed her the body soufflé with the cover off but did not tell her what it was. I asked her to smell and look at it then tell me what she thought it was; she said that it smells and looks like strawberry yogurt!

Here are a series of 3 pictures to include a visual of the texture.
This first picture is just the tub open and in direct sunlight (I only did this for photo purposes, I do not recommend you leave your product opened or closed in direct sunlight)

The next 2 images are a before and after shot, first picture shows a smaller amount of body soufflé on my left hand knuckle. Then the second image is about 20 seconds later after rubbing in the product. You should be able to see no greasy or wet appearance, and my skin looks at least a little bit more moisturized.

Taste / Aroma

When I thought I could not be surprised by this product anymore than I already have been, I decided to taste it! This is the first product on Eden Fantasy's I have dared to taste, thankfully I do not regret this choice. I remember the first thing I did when I received this in the mail; I opened it and showed it to my fiancée. I told her all about what it was and that it was edible. She perked up and said "Edible? Really?" then proceeded to dip her finger into the container and try a very small amount. She commented that it tasted like strawberry yogurt but within a few seconds it started to taste like unscented lotion. Intrigued at this point, I also took the plunge to try tasting it, she was right; it tasted just like strawberry yogurt. There was no chemical or nasty unpleasant taste, for me within 10 seconds the strawberry taste dissipated and became a more waxy unscented lotion taste with just a hint of the yogurt. I must add it tastes very sweet, but all in all I would describe it as a more artificial strawberry flavor vs. a natural flavor. Kissing/licking on the skin after rubbing it in leaves a lot to be desired, while not an unpleasant taste, it just tastes like sweet sugar.

The aroma of this product smells delicious and always makes me crave strawberry ice cream and yogurt. When opening the container for the first time and all other times, the aroma is quite mellow, not really strong, but also not too light. To both my fiancée and I, it smells just like strawberry yogurt, if I continue to smell it in the container, I start to notice a very subtle but not unpleasant smell of lotion. When applying it to the skin it smells lovely, like I’m moisturizing my skin with yogurt. But sadly, what tends to happen is once the soufflé absorbs into my skin, the strawberry aroma almost fades away completely, leaving just a light yogurt lotion aroma that lasts for a couple of hours generally. Even though the aroma does not quite smell as good on my skin as it does in the container, I still enjoy using this product generally on a daily basis.

Performance

It is winter time again and with that comes dry skin, lots of it! I live in the Midwest and the winter isn't exactly forgiving on my skin. But this body soufflé has done a fairly nice job on keeping my skin moisturized even during the harshest of cold days (-40F). I love taking this product to work because my job often leaves my hands very dry. The soufflé helps in keeping my hands moisturized and prevents them from cracking and bleeding. After a shower or right before bed is generally when I use a generous portion of the soufflé all over my body to keep my skin looking and feeling healthy. It does a great job in all these applications and very few other products I have tried come close to comparing in quality.

With that being said, my only wish is that this product would perform better for prolonged massaging sessions. Both my fiancée and I have been trying to use this as a massaging aid, unfortunately we find it only useful for short length massages (15 minutes or so). Generally we need more time to knead the muscles and knots in each other’s back. We often have to re-apply and that really isn't a big issue, it's just how often we need to re-apply. The soufflé absorbs incredibly fast into the skin when using a small amount and still fast even when you are being generous in the portions. So while I'm trying to use my hands to knead some knots, having to stop and re-apply often can put a damper on things. But this isn't a huge issue, more like an inconvenience. I do love the fact that I do not feel sticky or uncomfortable when the product absorbs into my skin and dries completely. Finally, I have not noticed any separation of ingredients in the container, such as an oil pool forming.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Dries up too fast
    • Reapply often

Packaging

When received in the mail there was no storage box or special packaging for this product specifically, it was simply wrapped in a clear plastic bag. The container itself is quite lovely; I enjoy the overall appearance and design. On the backside it has a disclaimer on what the product is designed for (massaging etc) and also tells you who it's manufactured by and address/website information. The underside of the container has another label that is host to the ingredient list and specifies that it is "Dermatologist tested, Hypo-Allergenic, Use externally". Also there are a few descriptions in other languages. Other than the back label describing nourishing and massaging your lover with kissable body soufflé this is a relatively discreet container. I could definitely see giving this as a gift to someone who enjoys bath and body products. The container is 7.5oz and is more flat shaped, I feel this is a rather travel friendly container and seals nicely. You are generally going to have to use two hands to open this container up; I would suggest closing it before rubbing the soufflé in with your hands.

While I realize the product page shows you an image of the containers, I wanted to show you a close up of my container in the 7.5oz size in direct sunlight.

    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Does not leak
    • Travel friendly

Experience

Before using this product by Kama Sutra I often went to bed at night with dry skin. Now every night before bed I moisturize using this body soufflé and it does an amazing job at keeping my skin moisturized until the morning. When I wake up, I no longer have dry skin and it has actually helped in reducing how much my skin itches from it being so dry. Both my fiancée and I enjoy using this for massaging and find in our experiences it really aids in being able to comfortably knead into sore muscles making it less tiring. Without this soufflé, not even 10 minutes of massaging and my arms and hands would be tired.
Follow-up commentary
So after all this time I have finally used up my soufflé (sad face). Would I buy this stuff again? Without hesitation! I have found this soufflé really nice during the hot summer months and very recently with the 100 degree and higher heat wave. The soufflé is still light enough to not clog up all the pores in your skin, but moisturizes enough to keep your skin feeling smooth.

Overall since I have had the soufflé, I have shown it too and had at least 50 or more people smell it and try it, every time they loved it. This product seems to be a big hit with the strawberry crème flavor and scent. My suggestion is to get it when it is on sale or with a discount, this product works really well in my opinion for what it is advertised as. Has lasted me months (this includes me using other various body products).
