Gives new meaning to "Mentos, the freshmaker"

Throughout my life I have never been much of a person to get into beauty products, lotions, moisturizers and bath products. However, lately since I have started to enjoy Eden Fantasys and lots of help from CookieMonsterMike, he recommended this product to me because lately I have been experiencing dry skin mostly on my arms and chest. As an added bonus, my partner loves the smell and taste of mint, and I figured it might be nice to have for some fun together. Primarily, the Kama Sutra body soufflé is marketed as a couple’s lickable massaging body soufflé. However, you can also use it for everyday moisturizing purposes. It works great for partial or full body massages and seems to be a fairly gentle formula.

Whether you want to apply this to your skin in the morning or at night after a shower, it should work for a good length of time in keeping your skin moisturized. Some people with extreme dry skin conditions will most likely have to use medical grade or prescription skin products. The Kama Sutra body soufflé works great for more of an easy to spread medium moisturizer. It's really good for short massages with limited application, extended massages will require reapplication. Please read over the ingredients for any possible allergy concerns. There is glycerin in this product, so if you generally have bad reactions to this, I would avoid this product.

Here are the ingredients for the cool mint crème that I ordered:

Water (Aqua/Eau), Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Flavor (Aroma), Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparrafin, Laureth-7, PEG-100 Stearate, Carbomer, Sodium Saccharin, Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Sorbate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Yellow 5 (CI 19140) , Blue 1 (CI 42090).

The Kama Sutra body soufflé can be best described as a thick creamy velvet pudding, but easier to remove and spread around. It is not nearly as thick as body butter, but much more thick than your standard watery lotions. It's cool to the touch and easily removed from the container, but it will not ooze out or fall out if the container is held upside down. It is a mint ice cream color. Once it comes into contact with your skin, it is easily absorbed and spread around without any green color to your skin. You will need to use a little more of this verses regular lotion, but this will still last a long time. It really makes my skin feel silky smooth and healthy. It seems to really help with my dry skin, which gets the appearance of white flaky skin. It can make your hands feel sweaty and wet, so I generally wash them and dry thoroughly on a hand towel. The soufflé will wash off and dissolve fairly easily in water.

With so many products that claim to smell like one thing when they smell completely different, you often are weary about buying online. With this body soufflé by Kama Sutra in the cool mint crème, I can break it down as simple as this: It is like when you pop one of those really strong mints in your mouth, and you start to breathe in and out with that strong sinus opening refreshing mint smell and taste. It’s a very strong mint smell in the container and on the skin after you rub it in. I will admit this stuff will definitely freshen you up and perk you up also. There are also some subtle, barely noticeable hints of chocolate in the aroma. I think most people won't pick up on this. So, I could see people wanting this if they want that really eye opening fresh mint smell like a York Patty.

As far as taste goes, I tried kissing/licking my skin after it had been rubbed and absorbed in, and all I could pick up was mostly mint aroma with a sweet mint taste that turned into a lotion taste. Out of the container, I put a very small amount in my mouth (big mistake!). At first it tasted minty, but it turned waxy and lotion tasting. After a short while, my tongue started to sting and tingle a bit, which was fairly painful for 15 seconds or so. I recommend limiting to kissing and light licking.

I think for an edible/lickable body product for massaging, this stuff works really awesome. It moisturizes my skin and absorbs very quickly without leaving any yucky residues. I have noticed if I apply it before bed and then get under the covers before it absorbs completely, it will leave traces of the mint aroma on the sheets (no stains though). The overall aroma after each application seems to vary in how long it lasts, which can be as little as 30 minutes in 1 or 2 cases to as long as 5 hours. I really don't feel the need to wash any of this off during or after use, except for my hands. My skin does still get dry from time to time, which tells me this is not a very rich or concentrated formula designed for long periods of skin moisturizing. The smell is somewhat neutral for me. I think I have to be really in the mood for it to fully be enjoyed. I find it's best for massages verses daily moisturizing in the enjoyment factor.

This product comes in a 7.5oz plastic container with a screw on cover that is easy to remove and put back on. There is a paper/foil seal on the container when first opened. When you remove it, you will most likely have some of the product stuck to the top of the seal. What I did was scrape/wipe it off on the edge of the container to save as much as I can. The container gives you an outline of what it is used for (massaging, etc.) and also has an ingredient list as shown earlier in this review. The container is about 3 1/2" in diameter and 2" tall. I personally love the style of this container with the green ribbon-like label around it. I feel it's fairly discreet. However, Kama Sutra brings to many people’s mind (sex positions), so to save yourself questioning you could simply keep it in a bathroom drawer/unit. It's somewhat travel friendly, although transferring some to a small sealable plastic container will suffice and work better.

I feel this deserves a 5 star rating because of its overall performance. For the money spent, I feel I received a fairly high quality product that is not only enjoyable in the means of tasting it (minus the tongue stinging), but also its freshening aroma and massaging benefits. I feel confident in recommending this to anyone who enjoys that really strong but refreshing eye opening mint smell.

Overall, in all my experience using this product, I have found it to be a nice moisturizer and also a great massaging soufflé. It feels great, and the strong smell of mint puckers me up and gives me a boost of energy every time. However, the mint crème is something I feel would be best enjoyed when you are really in the mood for it. My skin is a lot healthier looking and more moisturized compared to when I had not used this product.
