Slippery Goodness

Overall, you get a decent bang for your buck with the ID glide lube. It's very slippery and functional. Just be prepared to use a lot to get things going.

Use

I managed to use this lube for two purposes. I will describe each in the following paragraphs.

The first of these was intercourse. My partner was excited to try a new lube, as before this purchase we had only tried the little packets of lube you got free from safe sex advocates. Not that we needed a lot, but it definitely helped. ID doesn't lie when they name their product "glide". It glides, alright. It cut friction down to a minimum and made playtime fun. And while it added to the cleanup, it wasn't significant. As it's water based, it came off very easily in the shower and cleanup was a breeze. In conclusion this is highly recommended for a sex lube.

I also used this lube with my Tenga Flip Hole Black. While it wasn't as good as the lubes the Tenga Flip Hole came with (the little mild, real, and wild tubes), it was definitely handy. It's difficult if not impossible to use a toy like that without lube, so I struggled to find a lube that would replace the tiny portions they gave you when you purchased the toy. I succeeded with the ID glide. Although it's in your interest to apply a lot of lube (mostly at the rim, and slowly decreasing as you get to the tip of the toy) it's totally worth it. The play experience was about as good as you can get with the Tenga's stock lubes, and it was a fairly easy cleanup on the toy's side as well.

In short, yes. I would recommend this as a lube for intercourse and as a lube for silicone toys.

Ingredients (thanks to married with children for reminding me!): Water, glycerin, propylene glycol, cellulose polymer, polyethylene oxide, sodium benzoate, methyl paraben, carbomer-981, tetrahydroxypropyl, ethylenediamine, diazolidynl, urea, and EDTA.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The lube is clear, and comes out pretty gooey. It's fairly thick to start but as you wear down on it, it does work itself into a slippery clear paste. Like most water based lubes it's edible. We found it had no gross taste or odor, and the taste was almost a waxy taste. It definitely wasn't distinct and it won't serve to hide the taste of other things.

It's not really a greasy sticky lube, but you definitely feel it on your skin. I guess if a lot of it got on one place on your body, it would feel a bit gunky. Nothing that would bother you during intercourse or playtime though. I do believe this is standard lube fare.

Taste / Aroma

It didn't really smell like anything. I couldn't detect an odor when I held it at snorting distance. Taste was a very light artificially sweet, waxy flavor. It wasn't distinct and it wasn't very heavy. It has a very light taste that won't hide the taste of what's being lubricated. Not that you'd want to. Either way, they're not very strong.

Performance

During both intercourse and solo playtime, I found that after a while the lube would either dry up or be absorbed into your skin. Being water based, this isn't an issue in terms of health. It just means that we needed to apply more lube (and apply more we did). I guess that means this lube would get used up quickly. You want to buy a lot at a time. We stuck with the 2oz tube this time but we might save up for the 5.5 oz next time. Just for good measure.

You do have to wash it off (let's not be slobs here!), but because it's water based it washes off very easily in the shower. Essentially a short rubbing motion and it's gone from your skin. No soap necessary, no hard scrubbing motion, no car wash antics. Easy cleanup. No complaints here.

My favorite part of this lube? The fact that it works very well for silicone toys. It's hard to find a good lube that will last on a toy. This isn't perfect but it does the job. My least favorite part? The sheer amount you have to apply if you want it to last.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Needs to be washed off with soap and water
    • Reapply often

Packaging

The 2oz of lube came packaged in a PE plastic tube (almost like a shorter toothpaste tube). It had a little cap that you could open and close with a snap, and a little hole on the cap where it came out of. Again, just like toothpaste. There's not that much in terms of instructions (save for a small directions bit). It's very suitable for travel in your luggage. It's also under 100ml so I think it'd be safe to carry it in your carry-on through the airport terminal scanners. Just be ready to explain if you have to.
