Slippery Lube for a Frisky Evening
For a good basic lubrication which can be added to anyones collection, ID Glide would be an excellent purchase. It does not dry easily, any residue is easy to wipe off and it has very little flavor. No bells or whistles here and it would be improved with a pump bottle, but generally this is a good product. I give it three stars because it becomes sticky and I do not like the bottle.Published: March 26, 2011
Pros:
No flavor or smell, thick and lasting
Cons:
Becomes sticky, would prefer a pump bottle
This is an excellent lube for the times when you want a lot of liquid for a night of slippery rough sex. ID Glide is great, when used with a parter or for extremely messy masturbation. Using this with my boyfriend did require reapplication, but this has become my favorite product for solo play. When using this with glass and plastic toys, this lube stayed thick and wet for at least thirty minutes without losing moisture. My boyfriend has never used this for male masturbation, but it could be a good choice for the thickness and versatility.
I love the thick texture, which prevents this from running down my legs or dripping onto the sheets. Although, this doesn't drip easily, small spots or handprints of lube left marks on my bed, but I am sure they will wash out.
ID Glide has decent lasting power and mixes well with natural juices, but I would not suggest this for anal play; vaginal juices keep this fresh, however, rear ends don't provide that luxury. The jelly constancy and lasting power are great basic lube qualities, however, the true make or break was the lack of flavor.
This had no strong smell or taste which I really appreciate, because it's easy to switch between oral and vaginal sex. Although, there are many great qualities to this basic lube, it does dry up and become tacky. It is very easy to clean up and my body feels very fresh afterwards. I would not let the lesser qualities prevent me from purchasing this brand again, because this seems to be a common problem.
This is a great basic product for anyone's collection, but if I could change one thing it would be the container. I prefer discreet bottles because I share a room. Also, because this is not a pump dispenser, it takes some time to open and reapply. After my hands are already slippery, opening this container is not difficult, but it is annoying. Not only does the lack of a pump take time, but it is also more messy. Touching the bottle with already slippery hands gets the bottle sticky, which is one more item to clean up.

ID Glide is still a great product, however it is never the first I grab if I'm alone or with a partner. Compared to other products in the same price range, it does not have the same lasting power or appeal. It's great for nights when you want to be very sloppy and messy but generally it is just a basic normal lube. If you are just branching into lubrication, this may be a good place to start but overall there is nothing exceptional about this product.

I received a sample and want to make sure it's the real thing before writing a review.

I got this sample with a wholesale order:

Is this the one EF is selling in larger bottles, so can I review it? -
It looks the same to me. If you're going to review it, do note that you have a smaller sample size tho.

It got pretty good ratings but it's like the worst thing I ever tried maybe 2/5. So not sure if it's just my personal preference or just plain different. Ingredients looks like the same tho. I read your durex warming review! I like that lube and use it to the day. This is far worse than that in terms of smell and performance. I got a premium silicone lube recently and I can finally understand why people gave 2/5 to the durex warming :) But I like it anyway, it's different. But made me realize what tacky really means and now I got a better picture.

Why is this product not sold in the same types of containers?
-
I am wondering why the different weights are sold in different containers. The 17.5 oz. container looks the best, but costs more. The 4 oz bottle looks weird, and I don't like it. They should be sold in same-looking containers. Any comments? Agreements?

I think it'd be much better if they made them all the same as you suggested. I guess they figure they're just giving people a choice in the way the lube is disposed?

Personally it doesn't bother me what the bottle looks like. Some I am sure are easier to conceal in a pocket or purse for the purpose of travel. Others do to their size like the one I baught being 35 oz. looks like a shampoo bottle and you could probably have out in the open as long as someone didn't take to close a look at it. I am sure they had their reasons for making the bottles the way they did.

Thank you for viewing ID glide – water based lube review page!

The bigger bottles come with a pump. Thanks for the review
Thanks for the review. This is a water-based lube, I assume?
Thanks for the review.
@Sloppy Donkey: yes, I noticed the larger bottle but didn't want to commit to a lube that large I hadn't used before. In the future, I will probably check it out.
@Vaccinium: Yes! It is a water based lube so it's very multipurpose and flexible, however it doesn't last as long as silicone or oil based.
Thanks for the comments!
Is this the same as the ID Glide that comes in the pump bottle? Other reviews I've read describe it as runny...
Thank you for your review.
