Wet, Wet, Wet!

If you are looking for a decent lubricant that is not expensive, then this may be for you. However, if you are looking for something that is thick and doesn't have a lot of chemicals you need to look elsewhere.

extremely useful review
This is a nice personal lubricant for solo or partner play. I've only used K-Y lubricants with my husband in the past, and this is a nice beginner lubricant that we have come across that I like better than K-Y. My body tends to be a little dry, but when my husband uses this on me it gives me a wonderfully "wet" feeling which my husband loves. I initially bought this product for the fact that I am dry and love making can hurt at times. It performs as I had hoped, and makes the experience much better for us.

Now that I'm a little more experienced, I realize that all of the chemicals this contains may not be such a good idea and I could probably get the same results with something that was more natural. I don't see recommending this to any of my friends.

The product is water based so it can be used with toys as well. We use it with all of our toys and have not had any issues. It is also hypoallergenic, colorless, and non-staining. It has a slight sweet smell to it. My husband commented that it smelled to him like cherries, but I just don't smell that.

It does not harm latex so it can be used with latex condoms.

Wet is easy to clean and does not stain anything that this may get on. It contains glycerin and parabens so if you have issues with glycerin then this would not be for you. It has not caused me any adverse reactions, but I don't usually get urinary tract infections and am not sensitive which I know is not the case for all.

Store at room temperature between 59-86 degrees farenheit.

The ingredients are:

deionized water
glycerin
carbomer
PEG-400
propylene glycol
hydroxyethylcellulose (a thickening agent)
imidazolidinylurea (antimicrobial preservative)
sodium benzoate (preservative)
methylparaben (antimicrobial agent)
tetrahydroxy-propyl ethylenediamine
tetrasodium EDTA
aloe vera leaf juice
tocopherylacetate(vitamin E)
citric acid

The issues that we have had with it is that it does not stay on for long and we have to continuously reapply. It comes out in about a pea sized drop that spreads easily. Considering that it's supposed to be a gel, I was expecting something more gel-like and not whatever this is. It is definitely runny and not thick as I expected. After a while it can become very sticky/tacky.

It comes in 0.8, 1.5, 3.5, 4.8, and 10 fluid oz bottles. I have the 3.5oz bottle, and have had it for several months now and still have not used it all. The bottle is a real pretty turquoise blue with WET original on the front. The side is clear and you can see the lubricant through it. The back gives directions, ingredients, and warnings. The bottle I have is still small enough to fit in my hand. The top is a pop-top flip back top and is easy to open and snaps back on easily. The back mentions to store in an upright position, but I keep mine in my lingerie drawer and it hasn't leaked out.

The expiration date is located on the bottom of the bottle and mine expires May 2016. Considering this was manufactured in 2009, that's a long shelf life.

I would not recommend using this for oral for the chemicals and the overall consistency of the product.

Clean-up is a breeze, just wash with soap and water and you're good to go.

We have this problem (dryness) sometimes but we've never tried using any additional lube. Food for thought. Thanks!

  • Anyone else?
    • I have been using ID pleasure for years. I tried WET and it seemed to be a bit more watered down to me. Not a bad thing just not my thing.
Anyonee lse have this going for you too?
    • I used to hate Wet products, they came off as cheap.
Until I tried their synergy line. I fell in love with both the original, and the tingle lubricant.

The Synergy is water and silicone mixed, which produces a gel. I hate water down lubricants.
As long as you don't use it with silicone toys, its fine.
    • I used to feel the same way about wet

  • Why not the same looking containers for this product?
    • Why is the 3.5, the 4.8, and the 10 oz bottles of this lubricant sold in cool looking bottles, while the 0.8 amount and the 1.5 sold in smaller, weirder shapes? Why not miniatures of the cooler versions? Why a toothpaste looking bottle and a hand sanitizer looking bottle? Comments? Agreements?

I'd assume that's just the bottles that the manufacturers felt were best for their item. Certain sizes will do better certain ways because of how they have to flex to squeeze the lube out.

Personally I don't care either way for stuff like this, none of the bottles are something I would want to display and the ease of use on all of them seems about the same, so it's not going to make a difference to me between the options.

At the size of the bottles for those smaller ones, the "neat" bottle wouldn't work. The little "handle hold" on the side of the bottle would actually be the entire length of the bottle. There just isn't enough product to warrant making the bigger bottle. However, if you contact Wet Lubricants, they always take suggestions well and could explain it further.
