Excuse Me, You're Wearing My Avatar!

Remember - I wore mine first! This is one of my absolutely favorite corsets. The flattering cut and boning will definitely give you curves you never knew you had! Coquette has outdone themselves with this sexy number. When your partner sees you in this, they will not be able to keep their hands off of you!

STYLE:

The Brocade Corset is a more traditional but elegantly styled piece of lingerie. The satiny sheen to the material is very flattering when paired with the metal hooks down the front and the lacing in the back. The boning is covered by the same material as the corset which adds a very subtle pattern that makes you notice the new curves.

The front hooks are strictly for closure and are non-adjustable. They compliment the style of this outfit nicely by adding a bit of a plain but contrasting accent. Both the hooks and eyes are on a solid metal piece that runs the full length on the front. Due to your curves and the stiffness of the metal, they can be a bit tricky to get fastened. I usually line them up from top to bottom and try to get them hooked at the same time. Yes, that takes a lot of practice!

The lace trim is a nicely elastic band that helps keep the top and bottom squeezed in slightly, otherwise you would be flashing people constantly. The elastic is so subtle, but effective, it took me a few weeks before I noticed that it was a wee bit stretchy. It reminds me of the satin wrapped elastic bands on the edge of nice curtains. It makes a perfect trim, is soft and not scratchy and wears very well.

Please look at the picture of the model that shows the lacing on the back. That is close to how I lace my corsets and bustiers for maximum curves and a flattering, non-lumpy look. I do not get mine two sizes too small, just one and I let the lacing adjust the garment to my size.

MATERIAL & SIZING:

The body of the corset is a satiny brocade that has a matte stitched rose pattern also of the same color. Very beautiful and classy, reminds me of Victorian materials. The inside feels cottony and soft. I have not had any scratchy or irritating feelings from the material. The brocade is made of 57% cotton and 43% acetate. It was made in Canada and is exclusive of trim.

The wrapped and staggered boning feels like plastic, but it holds the shape very well. There are a total of eight pieces of boning in this corset, probably why it is so flattering and keeps its shape.

We already discussed the lace above, but the lacing in the back is a non-stretchy cotton. The grommets it laces through are metal and very small. I have to repeat that the materials and workmanship on this corset is very high quality and made to last.

The sizing chart for this corset is pretty accurate, about maybe a half size small, but again the lacing makes up for that very nicely.

CLEANING & STORAGE:

The tag on the inside has cleaning instructions which are: Hand wash. NO bleach - dryer - or ironing. I always hand was it in cold water with Woolite, the let it air dry. If there are any wrinkles, I usually lay it flat on top of the warm dryer for a load of clothes, turning it over once.

I have lingerie hangers and plastic bags I keep mi lingerie in. They even have a special place in my closet to hang.

PRICE & DURABILITY:

This is a very reasonable price for a garment that will last as long as this one does. I wear it at least once every week or two. You will not find better quality or value for this price.

I have had this corset for about four years and there was only one frayed bit of thread. It was in the back where the lace was folded over and hemmed at the edge. The seams are strong and there is no lost or frayed stitches. As long as I trim the very bottom edge of the rear lacing, it looks new as well. T here is no fraying over the boning and no boning edges poking out of the top or bottom. The color has faded about a 16th of a shade, not very noticeable unless you are really picking the corset apart.
Follow-up commentary
In case you haven't noticed, I have the black version of this corset. I am going to order the red one prior to Christmas and know I will be loving it as well.

This corset looks super sexy with a pair of fishnets, and a flowing skirt for a night out, a pair of jeans and boots for casual days and also with nothing else but a smile and toy from Edens!

It is highly recommended by me for the quality in workmanship and materials, versatility and longevity. Reminder, mine is 5 years old and still looks great!
