Sheer black thigh highs - thigh highs discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by misskat

These are sheer, 100% nylon black thighs produced by Leg Avenue. They can be worn with or without garters, due to the wide, stretchy band at the top. I really like this style of band. It is tight enough that you can wear them without garters and they will not slip at all, but because it is wide and flat it provides a great surface to attach the garters to.



Additionally, because it is not a narrow, tight band, it doesn't create that unattractive bulge at the top of them where they cut into your thighs. It is stretchy, but not necessarily like an elastic band. The whole band is woven and stretchy. This, and the width of the band, keeps everything smooth.

They are black and pretty transparent. I am glad they are see-through, because I think that looks sexier than opaque tights.

They are decently well-made, but they are still inexpensive. I will buy these over and over again, but like most tights, they are not made to last. I noticed a few pulls in the material when I took them off after the first wear (mostly in the feet and likely due to our hardwood floors). That is to be expected though.

I have bought other thigh-highs before that have cost up to $15 per pair and while they were better quality and lasted a few more wears than these did, they were not great enough to justify the cost. No thigh-highs are going to last a very long time, simply due to the nature of the material and product.

They come in a cardboard envelope, black on one side and pink on the other. There is a small, heart-shaped window where you can see the pantyhose inside. The rest of the packing is solid.



I have hand-washed mine in the sink with water and diluted soap and hung them to dry. I would not recommend washing these in the washing machine. The package echoes these directions and also says not to iron them (hello, melting!). It also suggests using non-chlorine bleach if needed.

I maintain that these are a great value. You never expect a pair of hose to last for very long because they are so delicate but these last for several wears and are very flattering. The wide band at the top makes these much more flattering than other hose because they do not create unsightly thigh bulges.
