Red stretch lace gown by Coquette - review by HouseWench

I was pleasantly surprised with this! When I received this gown set, it was both on a hanger and in a bag. Its straps are pretty, soft little ribbons with clear sliders to adjust for length. These were wrapped around the hanger, so were both unwrinkled and untangled! Fantastic! After further use, I noticed that the ribbons are not particularly prone to wrinkling. If you hang or fold it up every time, you could go MONTHS without wrinkles.

The lace itself is REALLY REALLY soft. Like. Oh my god, you guys, it is so soft. It feels nothing like most lace, and is very smooth. The thong is made of the same material, and is surprisingly comfortable for having a piece of lace all up in your business. I haven't worn underwear regularly for an absurd length of time due to... personal sensitivity? But I was perfectly happy wearing this set for an entire day. The ruffles are similarly soft, and a bit more opaque than they appear in the product photo, which I think lends itself well to the appearance. Literally, my only complaint about this piece of lingerie is the strange charm that dangles from the center bow. It's shaped like a pair of lips, and SEEMS to be made of real metal, it just looks strange.

The whole of the gown is pretty decently sized. It's about 16" in the front, and about 34" in the back, with a fair amount of stretch. The ruffle adds an additional 3" of length. The straps are also very accommodating; at 5'4" I had to adjust them almost as short as they'd go, but still had an inch or so of room. They total at 18" of length, and don't have any stretch to them.

Now for the construction: It is surprisingly well-made. Every stitch is very secure, even those holding the little bow and lip charm (???) details on. There is NO way you could accidentally lose a bow (in the center of the front and at the front anchor of each strap), and it would take some serious force to get the straps to come loose. The stitches holding the ruffles on aren't anything to quibble with either. If you 'almost' like this gown, but intended on doing some small modifications, you are going to have a hell of a time doing it without a pair of scissors and a sewing machine.
