School girl chemise - chemise discontinued by Coquette - review by Breas

The School Girl Chemise by Coquette is available in one-size-fits-most and plus size. I ordered the plus size. The outfit arrived packaged in a rectangular box. The front has a photo of a model wearing the outfit, and the brand name. The back of the packaging states the contents of the package, has a back view of the model wearing the outfit, and states the size. The box is not ideal for storing the outfit. I like keeping my outfit in the closet, though it could also be folded and put into a drawer.



Inside of the box, the outfit was folded neatly. The outfit is just one piece. The chemise is 100% polyester (exclusive of trim). The material is very stretchy, except for the shoulder straps and the white flaps on the cups.



I’ve taken measurements of the outfit laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements, let me know and I can get them for you.

Shoulder straps: 11-20 ¼ inches
Chest (armpit to armpit): 18 inches
Cup width: 8 ½ inches
Cup length: 5 ¾ inches
Tie length: 5 ½ inches
Cup flap length: 2 ½ inches
Length of outfit (armpit to bottom of skirt): 22 inches
Skirt length: 7 ½ inches

The plaid areas of the dress (the cups and skirt) are a thin material but not sheer. The black mesh material is sheer. The plaid pattern of the actual outfit is different than the one shown in the stock photo. There is white in the plaid, and a lot of it.



The tie to the outfit is flimsy. When I had seen the tie in the stock photo, it looked as though it was thick and had more shape to it. Unfortunately, it does not. The cups also looked like they had a bit of support to them, or at least a bit thicker material than they actually are. There is no padding in the cups and there is no underwire. If you are worried about nipple outline showing through the material, you’ll need to wear pasties to cover them. My C cups fit well into the chest area of the outfit though any smaller and they might look a bit baggy (for the plus size). A size or two larger than me would fit well also.



The shoulder straps are not detachable, though they are adjustable. The overall quality of the outfit is rather low. There were quite a few frayed threads in the stitching and the material is really flimsy and not what you would have expected from the stock photo. The price of the outfit is excellent but the quality is not.

Even though the quality isn’t the greatest, the material is really comfortable against the skin. I didn’t experience any irritation to my skin while wearing the outfit. The care tag states that the outfit should only be hand washed and hung to dry.

Overall, it’s an okay outfit for the price. I mentioned that there were frayed threads but my partner didn’t notice at all while I was wearing it. He said it looked really good and he liked the outfit a lot. He especially loved how short the skirt was. I’m 5’6” and the skirt showed the bottom of my bum cheeks.

I would have really liked the colour scheme of the outfit to be the same as the stock photo. If it was a very minor difference it wouldn’t be as annoying but I don’t consider the amount of white to be a minor difference. It also would have been nice if there were some support in the cups. The larger your chest is, the more the cups become weighed down and instead of looking full and perky, they sort of sag. The last thing that I would have liked is the quality to be a bit better. For the price, the outfit is decent but I thought that Coquette had higher standards than this. It’s definitely disappointing.

I’ve given this outfit a 3 out of 5 because it’s not terrible but it is not great either. If you were looking for a cute schoolgirl outfit for a good price, I’d recommend this piece. Just beware that the outfit does not look like the stock photo and the quality isn’t great.
