Sparkle mesh teddy with sequins - teddy discontinued by Rene Rofe - review by Mamastoys

I went on a shopping spree and decided I wanted some different outfits so I chose the Sparkle Mesh Teddy with Sequins by Rene Rofi. I ordered the small/medium size which the sizing chart states small fits a 6-8 and a medium fits 10-12. I usually wear a 8-10 so I thought it would be a good fit. The sizing chart also stated it fits the following:
Bust (in) Waist (in) Hip (in)
Small 6 - 8 35 - 37 26½ - 28½ 37½ - 39½
Medium 10 - 12 37 - 39 28½ - 30½ 39½ - 42½

I am 37 inches in the bust, 33 inches in the waist, and 37 1/2 inches in the hips. I am 5'7".

It is available only in S/M and M/L. It only comes in the black with silver sequins color.

The teddy arrived along with my other items and as I began to take them out and try them on, the first thing I noticed was there were loose strings hanging off the outfit in several different places. It arrived in a clear plastic bag and was wrapped around a piece of light cardboard inside the bag. The bag provided care instructions including it should be hand washed in cold water with no bleach, line dry, no ironing and no dry cleaning. I'm not sure why that last part would even be included because I can't imagine anyone actually sending this to be dry cleaned, but anyway. It is made in China and is 100% nylon.









The top of the teddy has two adjustable straps and a bra-like closure in the back. The eye and hook closure has three rows so it is adjustable. Even though it is bra-like, it offers no support and there are no under wires. The back closure is adjustable and measures from 7 inches and stretches up to 12 inches. There is a tag in the back of the closure has a tag in it, much like most bras have in them. The shoulder straps are thin and stretchy. They measure from 7-14 inches unstretched and when stretches, measure up to 30 inches long.

In the middle section of the teddy, the material narrows down with the sides cut out. The material is covered with shiny silver sequins sown on black mesh material. The sequins are loose and held only in place with strings.



The bottom of the teddy ends in a G String type bottom. The string going around your hips is not adjustable per say but is very stretchy and will accommodate hip sizes from 19 inches to 30 inches. The string going from front to back is also stretchy and stretches from 5-9 inches. The front scantly covers the private area.



It only gets two stars from me due to the poor quality, the uncomfortable scratchy feeling,and the fact that it probably won't last very long.

When I initially tried the teddy on, my fear became a reality. I was afraid with the sequins and the thin mesh, it would be scratchy and it proved to be true. While it was stretchy, it just didn't feel comfortable. I had asked hubby if he wanted the sexy or slutty look that evening and he said slutty. When I wore it he, of course, liked it. His first question was, "is it crotchless?" When I told him no, he replied "well, it's not slutty then." Men! While it did lead to a night of hot passion, I's not sure it was entirely to the teddy's credit. This outfit served its purpose but won't be one that is worn too often. Firstly, it's not comfortable and secondly, I don't think it will be around that long due to the poor quality of it.

I have washed this outfit once on the delicate cycle inside a lingerie bag. It made it through the wash and was line dried but when I tried it on, it was still as itchy and uncomfortable as it was at the beginning. There are a few more string hanging off it so I'm just not thinking it will last much longer. I did try to give it a second chance but it's just not making the cut. I'll keep it around until it falls apart but it is definitely not one of my favorite products!
