One shoulder silhouette - mini dress discontinued by Espiral - review by Kissy

Call me a sucker for a little black dress, because I totally am! When I saw this one as I was browsing EdenFantasys one day, I added it to my wishlist and it was on my very next order. I loved the one shoulder look and the full length sleeve! I thought, "This might just be the dress I can wear out of the house!" And it was!

Th One Shoulder Silhouette – mini dress - by Espiral was the little black dress I had been longing for. It comes close to perfect. As for the packaging, it came in a dress garment bag hanging on a hanger. There was a care tag attached to the dress.

Design/Shape:
This dress is both modest and sexy. The long sleeve gives it a more modest look, while the one shoulder and the shorter skirt give it the sexy appeal! The arm sleeve can be worn on either arm, there is no front or back to this dress. Without the sleeve, this dress would look like a lot like a toga.

There is rouching on the entire length of the dress, down both sides. This allows for the dress to be a little shorter or a little longer if you prefer. The more you scrunch it up, the less see-through it is. From the one-shoulder side to the other side below the armpit, there is a little more rouching that gives the top a draping look. It is better than it being straight across, it gives at least a little room in the chest, but not much. You see, the fabric has no give and isn't very accommodating. There is no bra support, just the fabric, and it is see-through.

There are fun shoulder sparkles that make this dress stand out. These consist of two rhinestone circles (each with 3 layers of rhinestone) on the top strap of the dress. The strap connects the sleeve to the shoulder. Then there is a small gap from the strap to the sleeve, leaving a little peek a boo hole at the top of your shoulder. It is a fun part of the design.

The skirt portion sits comfortably a few inches from the bottom of my bum. This is a comfortable length for me. It isn't as short as other dresses I have from EdenFantasys. I feel like I can go out in public in this length.

If you get the correct size, this dress is very flattering in my opinion.

Sizing:
This black dress is available in sizes S, M, L, and XL
I am typically a size 4-6 in dresses. I usually get a small or a medium. I have a 34D bust, 36" hips and 30"-32" waist. I am 5'4" and average built. For this dress I got the medium because I read it ran small. And it does! I am glad I ordered up. In fact, I bet the large wouldn't be so bad either.

I definitely recommend ordering up a size. There is not a lot of give in the dress fabric in the front (chest area) or the back (bum area) but there is in the sides for length. So if you are big in either of these, you'll probably want to order TWO sizes up. If you are thin or average with little features, you will want to order ONE size up.

Care/ Maintenance:
There are small hanger strings sewn on the inside of the dress to easily hang it. I am currently hanging it in the closet in the original garment bag.

I recommend hand washing this item. The fabric is not very durable, so throwing it in the washer might break it down. I also recommend line drying.

Material/Texture:
Material; 65% polyester/35% rayon
The fabric is pretty thin. I found the material to be breathable, comfortable and lightweight.

You couldn't really tell from my original pictures, so I included a very bright, overly lit picture, where you can see more through it. I wanted to give you a better idea, sorry for the picture quality, that is just what happens. This is a little more realistic view of how see-through it is. There is very little stretch in the main fabric, so my 34D boobs were pretty tight in it, making it more see-through.

The craftsmanship of this dress is good. I am thrilled with the quality of work. There are no loose threads or unfinished ends. The seams feel sturdy and durable, but the fabric feels cheap.

Personal Experience :
The dress is comfortable on, and I love the way it looks. It is see-through which makes it awkward to go out in as is. But, I was determined to go out for my friends 30th birthday wearing this and I did, with a lot of help. It was nighttime, so I had that going for me (no bright sun rays shining through). It was also in a dark lit night club (again, darkness, yay!). But just to be sure I wore two black tube tops underneath and a strapless bra. I wore one tube top as a tube top, and the other as a skirt. They overlapped right underneath my belly button. It was a little silly, yes. But I looked in the mirror 100 times before stepping out in it, and I swear, you'd never be able to tell what I did!

Conclusion: ★★★★ (see-through)

I do have some mixed feelings about this. I have worn it a few times, and it doesn't do that well in the wash - it got a little balled up, so I hand washed it the next time. That's fine. I do love the look of the sleeve and the side rusching, but not the see-through factor. I always wear with a slip. It is not the highest quality of fabric, but it is cute on. I will say I still like it, but rather it is 3 of 5 stars, instead of 4 of 5 stars.
