Diamonds aren't a girl's best friend

Although I was somewhat satisfied with the Evolved Princess, I wouldn't recommend buying it. I think that beginners might appreciate it at first, but would easily tire of the standard, vanilla vibration. I think investing in something more intense would be worth it in the long run. It's not terrible, but it's just not great.

Use

OK, so I have to make a confession. This is my first vibrator. Browsing the huge section of vibrators was pretty confusing. I mean, I thought the cereal aisle was bad. Vibrators come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. I finally settled on the Diamond Princess vibrator from Evolved. It's small, discreet, and inexpensive. After using it, I can say that I think it's a pretty basic vibrator. I think it's best for first timers. It's mainly for direct clitoral stimulation. It's probably best for solo action.

Material / Texture

The Evolved Princess is made of plastic and phthalate free. It has a really smooth velvety texture to it that's really inviting. Bonus points to this little gem for being waterproof.
    • Not porous at all
    • Smooth
    • Velvety

Design / Shape / Size

I'll admit the main reason I ended up buying the Evolved Princess was the way it looked. I couldn't bring myself to buy a Rabbit with all the theatrics. All the settings and speeds seemed a little overwhelming. Plus, the pretty, pretty princess colors were throwing me off a little.

The Evolved Princess has a really appealing look to it. Its smooth, sleek shape was what attracted me to it. It's black, velvety, and has two rows of "diamonds" around the base. Because of its appearance, it's definitely discreet and easy to hide and travel with. It only measures about 4.5" long and 3" around.

Functions / Performance / Controls

My inexperience with vibrators might work against me but I have to believe that the Evolved Princess is more for beginners. It's a really simple design; turn the base clockwise to start the vibration. The more you turn, the more intense it becomes. The vibration is mainly focused at the top half of the vibrator, so it's obvious that it's only really meant for clitoral stimulation. Penetration really isn't pleasurable due to the design. It's just too thin, small, and hard to provide and stimulation or pleasure to the G-spot. It simply doesn't enough variety or strength to really wow.

On the good side, the controls are extremely easy to use and it's waterproof and works very well in the shower and bathtub.
    • Discreet sound
    • Not enough variety

Care and Maintenance

It gets points for being super easy to take care of. It's easily washed with soap and water or cleaned with your favorite toy cleaner. I store it in the case it came with so again, super simple. I've used it with a water-based lube and that works very well.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The Evolved Princess came packaged in a tin box with some nice information on the back. The package can be used for storage, or may be discarded for another storage preference. Note that it does not come with the AA battery needed to power it.
    • Good for storage
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

Personally, I liked my Evolved vibrator but I don't LOVE it. I mean it's great for mainly clitoral orgasms but it's a very standard vibration and not very intense. There is absolutely no appeal from a penetration standpoint, though; it's not the right shape, size, or material to get the job done. I'd recommend it to beginners or those who aren't too fussy when it comes to theatrics.
    • Good for beginners

Experience

Satisfied, but not thrilled with the performance. Although the look of the Evolved is a definitely plus.
Follow-up commentary
OK - so I don't have a lot of experience with vibrators so I'm thinking I judged it a little too harsh because it really does come in handy, but I'm still waiting to get a rabbit one day so I can see how different they are. I still use this vibrator quite a bit (mostly in foreplay) and I like the size and noise level (quiet) of it. I'd recommend it to anyone starting out or who wants a quick way to get a clitoral orgasm with no fuss.
