Little Pink Sperm Plug

Sentinel is a nice little vibrating plug that's a good size for people new to anal plugs and also for those who prefer the things in their butt to be smaller. The vibrator included is pretty strong, but its vibrations diffuse through the plug, making them a low hum when the plug is inside. Regardless, it's good for experimenting with anal vibrations. Sentinel is made of pure silicone meaning that it is a $40 plug that will last for a long time.

Use

Sentinel is a medium-sized, vibrating anal plug that can be used by any person who enjoys anal stimulation. For use, make sure that the plug is clean and that both the wearer's insides and the plug are well lubricated with a water-based lubricant. After everything is ready, put the included batteries into the vibrator and slide it into Sentinel. From that point, the wearer can put the plug into their tush, and have fun to their heart's (or bottom's) content.

This toy is good for both those with and those without a p-spot. Since it's a vibrating plug, it will give good stimulation either way. Because it's fairly small, it's good for people who have tried smaller-sized anal plugs and are wanting to try something with vibration. It's also good for those that prefer their anal plugs smaller.

Material / Texture

Sentinel is made of a fairly firm silicone that has a matte texture. It's not very plushy, so it is not flexible, but since it's silicone, it can be shared between partners if it's properly cleaned before and after use. Silicone has no smell, and no taste, so you can be sure that you will not be offended when taking it out of its packaging. It does, however, retain scents after kept in for longer periods of time, aggravatingly enough.

The bullet that comes with Sentinel is made of a smooth plastic. There are ridges along its body, but since it will not be felt in use, this should not be a problem.

I suggest washing Sentinel before and after use—before because silicone can sometimes attract dust and lint particles, and after for the obvious reasons. You should only use it with water-based lubricants, as silicone-based will degrade or muck up the material. There is no part on the toy that is safe for lubricant-compatibility testing, so I do not recommend it.

Design / Shape / Size

Sentinel is a teardrop-shaped plug, with a ring and a little ball that's meant to stimulate the clitoris/perineum. The insertable portion of the plug attaches to a short neck, which also attaches to a 2" diameter ring. I am able to fit two of my fingers in the ring without any struggling, but you may be able to fit three if you stretch the material. There is a little piece dangling off of the ring that is meant to stimulate either the clitoris or perineum, depending on the individual's anatomy. It is so short that I doubt that it could reach any clitoris; it should, however, reach a person's perineum, but since it's so flexible, it does not provide any firm stimulation.

Mine is the pink version, which is exactly as pictured: a toned down hot pink. The largest point of the plug is 1 1/2" in diameter, which tapers down to a neck with a width and length size of 3/4". Its insertable length is 3" when inserted to the ring, making it a fairly small plug (but not as small as the Bootie). Sentinel's little perineum-stimulating ball is just under 1/2". And, all together, the total length of the plug is 4 3/4". Since the base is a ring as opposed to something that will not stick out, I do not suggest wearing it out of the home (unless you have a bigger cheeks).

Functions / Performance / Controls

The plug is fairly easy to insert, as it is not very big at all. When well enough lubricated, it will easily glide in and stay in, without popping out or slipping in too far. The neck provides a good enough amount of tug so that the tush will pucker around it and not push it out. The addition of the loop allows two fingers comfortably, and acts as a base to pull Sentinel out, keep Sentinel in, and keep the wearer from having to take a trip to the hospital because they have an anal plug stuck up their bottom.

When used in conjunction with the bullet (which it can be used without the bullet if vibrating plugs are not within your taste), the vibrations are felt evenly throughout the entire plug. They are not felt in the ring or the perineum/clitoral ball, but they are felt internally. They are very low and soft, but they still feel like a small hint of a tingle. The bullet is only a one-speed bullet, but at that one speed, it's very buzzy. If used alone, it's loud—but when it's inside of Sentinel, it's barely a whisper as the sound is diffused through the silicone.

You can use the plug underwater, but you should insert it before getting yourself in the water. The vibrator will remain intact, and usable, but there will be some water droplets inside of it. Make sure to dry it off as thoroughly as possible.

I found the included bullet to honestly be very aggravating—I had a hard time first getting the vibrator out of the plug, and then getting it back in after turning it on. It just was not a good experience, and toys should not be so difficult to maneuver, especially if you are expecting to use them in the "heat of the moment." Getting yourself accustomed to getting the vibrator in and out of the plug before using it is a good idea.

Care and Maintenance

Since Sentinel is made of 100% silicone, you can sanitize it by boiling it for about five minutes or cleaning it with a 10% bleach solution. Make sure though, before cleaning the Sentinel, that the vibrator is taken out of the toy—the vibrator will not stand up to those methods. To clean the vibrator, wash it with a toy cleaner solution or soap and water. Since it's so small, it is a bit hard to clean.

After cleaning, I suggest keeping the vibrator and plug separate, as it's a difficulty to retrieve the vibrator from the plug. This will make it easier if you are wanting to just pick it up and start using it. When you do store it though, you can either use its original packaging or put it in a drawer or closet (wherever you regularly keep your toys). Just make sure to keep it away from other toys made of silicone composites, as they sometimes make each others' materials degrade.

Packaging

Sentinel comes packaged in a very beautifully designed, thin cardboard box with a plastic clamshell casing insert. There are batteries for the bullet included, as well as a little "key" (it's actually this straight piece of metal) that's meant to help you retrieve the bullet after it's in the plug. There are two manuals to using the plug in the box, each of them bearing a few different languages.

You can either keep the packaging or throw it away—I only kept it because I had to write the review and needed to remember what it was. I plan to recycle it soon.

Personal comments

The way that the plug and the neck are shaped reminds me of sperm. Actually, all of the toys from this company do—like a little sperm tail and head, stuck together.
