Pure silicone b.o.b. - traditional vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Madeira

This is a vibrator that's designed for either internal or external use, though it's somewhat superior as an internal toy. It's base is not flared enough for anal use, which is a shame as it's narrowness makes it a very reasonable dildo for someone who enjoys anal. The vibrations are strong but very buzzy, and although arousing, they seem less than ideal for achieving orgasm. It does work pretty well internally, though it's lack of a g-spot curve can be irritating. Buzzy vibes do make a nice tease on nipples at well, which is another thing this particular vibe is adept at.

The shaft of this toy is made of soft pliant silicone over a firm core, the handle is pink and white plastic. The silicone is tasteless, though it has an odd scent which makes me wonder if it's pure. There's a seam running along the center length of the shaft and generally the texture doesn't add too much noticeable added stimulation. There's also a cluster of weird little nubbles at the base of the shaft (past the point where it's insertable) which I don't see the point of as the vibrations are definitely concentrated in the tip of the vibe, rather than the base (in fact the back of the vibe barely seems to vibrate at all)

The Battery Operated Buddy (B.O.B. for short, though I prefer to call it E.T. as this vibrator gives off alien vibes if you ask me) is a slender stylized phallic vibe. It's pink, and slim with a head and veined detailing along the shaft. At the base of the shaft there's a bulge topped with silicone "nubbins" the function of which I cannot ascertain. The handle is pink plastic with two white buttons with grey symbols, the one closest to the end of the vibe is the power button (on/off) and the next on is the "change function button" which allows you to cycle through B.O.B's 10 vibration patterns.

This vibe features ten functions which are as follows:
1. Strong constant buzzy vibration
2. Lower vibrations
3. very low vibrations
4. A sort of car starting sort of rhythm. It goes Bz-bz-bzzz and repeat.
5. Low vibration pulses, sort of a "tick-tick-tick" feeling
6. High vibration pulses, longer pulses sort of "bzz-bzz-bzz"
7. High vibration pulses, short pulses "bz-bz-bz-bz"
8. High vibration pulses, very short pulses, similar to setting 5 but more powerful
9. Setting 6 with even longer pulses.
10. A weird squeaking noise and the tiniest hint of vibration in the very tip.


The vibrations are very buzzy and surface-y, which can be quite irritating on my clitoris, but it does feel pretty nice internally. The controls are well designed and this vibe is water resistant. This thing has a lot of nice bits and pieces, the multiple functions, the water resistance... but ultimately a failure because of the buzzy vibrations.

B.O.B's silicone is surprisingly non-sticky (silicone toys are prone to picking up lint and hair, but B.O.B. likely due to his alien super powers does not. However you should definitely not use silicone lube on B.O.B, because being a silicone based life form, he will melt. Silicone is non-porous and steralizable so sharing B.O.B with partners is no problem (however you cannot boil him, or put him in the dishwasher because of his plastic parts) I recommend toy cleaner for most of the time, and a bleach bath for the silicone shaft if he needs sterilizing.

I considered titling this review "What about B.O.B?" but realized I could make more puns with the alien theme, so I went with that.
