Community Planning Meeting: 02.16.2012

Hello there everybody, and welcome to the Community Planning Meeting! The meeting will take place right here on Thursday, February 16th at 7pm Eastern. If you have any ideas for this meeting, please feel free to post them before the meeting. Maybe somebody else has the same thought you do!

If you arrive before the discussion, please take a few minutes to look through previous discussions.

CPM: 02.02.2012 - A very short meeting, we discussed some of the new features from the update.

CPM: 01.19.2012 - We spent most of the meeting discussing the new photo uploading feature.

CPM: 01.05.2012 - We discussed things that have been brought up in the past and what their status was, and also things we could do workshops on.

I had an idea I wanted to post before I forget.

Often, people have questions about a toy and/or toys that they are considering. How about a database of contributors that have that particular item with a system that can cross-reference multiple items. For example, I could use it to look up all contributors that have the Njoy Pure wand and the Nobessence Smooth S shape so that I can ask them specific questions. Not sure how many people would use such a tool.

This is an awesome idea. (But what other questions could you possibly have? I already put up a video )!

The comparison thought you are having Kindred, is one of the suggestions I had for the EdenToy club.

For me, I like to compare things!!!! It's what sells me on an item.

Not too badly. I'm very much looking forward to this weekend, as my husband and I are going out of town. We're leaving tonight, and I'll be working a short day tomorrow from where we're staying.

Have a good trip!

I'm trying to find a reliable car at a reasonable price, and it's taking longer than I had expected it to. So many nuances! So my weekend will probably be full of that.

We're making some changes with the meetings, and I wanted this group to be the first to know.

The Holiday Party Planning meetings are going to be going away. Since most of the meetings seem to focus on picking a date, we think we can get just as much of a response with a series of polls to get your opinions rather than trying to get everybody to show up at the meetings since they've never been wildly popular.

The polls would still give you options for helping to decide the dates of parties, what to celebrate, and a place to voice an opinion for things you might like to see in the parties otherwise (trivia, etc).

I was thinking about it some more. It could be set up like the current "My favorite items" is set up. Each reviewer manually enters any toys they have or had. Ten on each product page, there would be an option to see all contributors with that toy, somewhat similar to the gifting option.

This could be pretty cool. I know I have a wishlist that has everything I have/have had, but it would be really nice to be able to find out who has things I'm comparing (One condition---it has to be updated and edited manually, not an automatic list of "this person has purchased X Y and Z". I'm sure that's how you were envisioning it too, but just thought I'd say that out loud.)
