Let's not even talk about how jelly I am when it comes to that bathroom. It is amazing. I need it in my life.

When I was brand new to video reviewing, I think for the second one I edited it a whole bunch to get rid of every time I said "um", and I'm a pretty big "ummer" so it was really choppy.

BBWTalksToys told me that it was fine to leave a few 'um's in so that the movie flowed better (and felt more natural at the same time), and she recommended I rehearse it in my head a few times to just help me speak more smoothly with fewer um's.

I don't rehearse word-for-word (I talk as I go), but I found out it did really help to give myself a mental outline. And I do usually practice the first two or so lines enough times to have them be rehearsed.

So that was really helpful for me.

aw...would one of my rabbits work instead? I have them in several sizes -even up to 19 pounds (I ought to include her in a review of a rabbit vibrator).

With a student as awesome as you it's easy!

I have a hard time knowing what to do when I make suggestions and the student ignores them... in general the student is in charge, so I only say something once and then shrug... I had a student who stopped logging in but the review we worked on wasn't any different from the one's she'd done without me.

So, when you're really hoping to improve, I love to help!

If you're recommending someone to video reviews, here is a good list of videos to start off with.

I used to literally script out my entire video and blow it up on the laptop and read it off screen. I still occasionally ad libbed, but it helped keep the flow and prevented awkward pauses and umms.

I had a golden retriever in one---I had been throwing sticks to keep him out of the screen but I had to refilm the first half so many times that I ran out of sticks

What's the best advice you've gotten on a review you've done, written or video?
Other than Sam's advice, the one that sticks out was from Jimbo (another great influence), he asked if I used the toy any other ways. I had not thought about putting that in the review before, now I try to come up with different ways to use it. My review of the Mantric Sysil was one where I could not use it as intended, so I came up with a new way.

All the fleshlight reviews?

Those first three are really awesome, but did you mean to link something else?

This reminds me - I need help with something.

"anal use".

Neither my hubby nor I am into that. So I can't state what we did/didn't do because we didn't do anything.

Should I just state something like "This isn't recommended for anal use because it does not have a flared base" or just not mention anal at all?

No, I love the way you do things. I think people just learn differently. I learn from being asked questions. It's helpful without telling me what to say. And I also love that it's a back and forth thing, without being like fine I corrected the spelling lets publish it. It pushes me to work harder, and write better. If I wanted mediocre reviews I'd just publish them as they are, I don't want that I want great.

I can't remember where I picked that up, but I try to do that also. I think it may have been after Selective Sensualist's epic Cobra Libre review. I was blown away by that one.
