In my guy-guy, guy-gal escapades, any smell (sometimes none, sometimes some, your experience may differ), can be alleviated with a preparatory enema.
My experience is the opposite. An enema is an alteration of the pH and chemistry, mucus balance in otherwise healthy tissue.

First, I didn't know for sure how to vote so I went with "smell would bother me." I have never had any anal sex and we don't do anything anal. Him rubbing that area is as far as it's gone. I can't get over the thought of how painful it would be to me and thankfully, anal sex is not on his list of "things I MUST do." LOL. I don't know if I'd ever get over it, but I don't think I would be comfortable with it.

ANYWAYS...
Definitely try something other than douching. That can be very bad for you. I have suffered from extreme digestive/tummy issues since my teen years and was very ill for a couple of years so this is how I've learned so much and I do hope my learning is correct. I wouldn't want to give wrong "Advice." So probably do some research, but I am highly against douching-- in any hole. Since I've had the digestive issues... IBS, which decided to take up root after I had been diagnosed with endometriosis. Apparently those two health issues like to present themselves together. Anyways, if I've understood right, your digestive system has good bacteria the same way the vagina does--lactobacillus (like I said, I could be getting these bacterias wrong. I only know what I've learned due to my conditions and doctor visits)

Douching or colon cleansing (the kind done with the tube in butt) can be very dangerous, although despite what some health experts say, I still believe in SOME cases colon cleansing can be helpful to a person, especially when suffering from problems is happening. However, I have never done any of those things, but since I've been on rounds of antibiotics since last Nov. I've been looking into some natural supplements to clean things because antibiotics can mess things up in there, especially for someone with IBS. What happens is, when douching or doing colon cleanses, it also flushes out the good bacteria and those are needed in order to kill of the bad. A good example: me! I apparently don't have enough of the good bacteria to get rid of the bad. In some cases, it can develop into severe IBS and "leaky gut syndrome," when you don't have enough of the good to kill off the bad. I've suffered with endo. and IBS for the past 6 years and have only just began to be normal and live somewhat normally and a lot of my problems now (after surgery) stem from the IBS.

SO I would really consider what kind of health my digestive system is in before attempting these cleanses. It simply would not be worth it to end up with problems. I am not saying douching there will cause IBS or anything, but I tend to be a little over paranoid about things that could upset the digestive system because mine gets so upset. I don't think anyone should do it frequently though-- too dangerous.

I do understand how you'd be concerned. I'm weird about my booty. Lol. I get uncomfortable if my partner touches there on occasion. I'm sure I would worry myself to death about smells and things if I were to have anal. I don't know what happens for sure--if poop really does show up during anal from time to time or anything like that. I'm the type of person who would worry about it though so I understand you being a little concerned.

I definitely think smells could have to do with your diet! Just like when a baby poops--the smell depends on what they've eaten a lot of times. Feeding them cabbage will give a whole different scent to feeding milk! So it's the same with big people too. I can't say what would cause you the less smell because it's probably different for different people. If poop is present during anal sex though, I'm pretty sure it'd have a smell if your close enough to it. Butt smells in general? Well, they do sweat and are closed up. A really good washing firts externally, would help, but as for the odor of anal sex... I can't say since I've never done it.

I would do some researching. Maybe try a reliable source for learning about what foods and things will cause what smells. I would think vegetables like cabbage would smell worst. Depends on what causes you to smell? I'm sure there's another way besides having to do douching and stuff every time you want to play.. I just wish I knew Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I'll look up a little about it and see what I find. If I find anything that seems helfpul, I will let you know asap.

Now I'm interested in what makes booties smell! LOL. God, my search history is going to look jacked up! LOL. Yesterday my bing sidebar history thing said "how to rid fleas with coffee" then "candidiasis on poop" LOL If anyone were to see it, they'd think I was one weirdo. LOL. If you're curious though about the poop stuff, CureZone is an amazing place to learn from people's real experiences. I've read a lot of posts about what happens after colon cleansing, colonics, etc. You could really learn a lot about the ways of "cleaning down there." Beware though! There are real images of what... comes out. If you don't like that sort of thing you may wanna steer clear. It interests me. Lol. You could probably find a wealth of info on the cleansing before anal though! A lot of people who post there actually are living with a condition such as IBS or Crohn's and have to go through different measures to "prepare" for anal. Maybe it would be a bit helpful to you?

Now... I'm off to search!

I know the scent she's talking about. It's the lubricant your colon naturaly produces. It has an odor that's not bad, just different. It's more mild than the smell of pussy so it's nothing strong. This smell is much more prevailent because of the enema. It causes your colon to compensate and work overtime producing lubricant.

Have you tired scented oils? (Obviously you have to try them before hand in small doses to make sure they will not irritate you)

Enemas are not good for you, and that very well could be your problem.

Yes the smell is definitely gross. I usually engage in any type of anal play while we are in the shower, which kind of helps with this problem

The only reason I would care about it, is if it seems like it may be noticed by my fiance! But I really don't care other than that...it IS ANAL sex, after all!

I don't really notice the smell. Try using a small amount of flavoured lubricant along with anal lubricant

Generally I don't have a problem with the smell unless you get a surprise (ick) but as he says, it comes with the territory.

We normally don't have odorous emanations when we have anal sex.
But I've learned that there are times, like someone else wrote, that... "the butt has the night off".

I would also agree about holding off on the enemas for a bit. Y LLP u might also want to try some good probiotics, the refrigerator ones that have a lot of strains and a lot of them. It might take a few different brands to find the right one. Also try changing up your diet a day prior, as others have also suggested it might help. As for the smell when we have anal sex, we've never noticed anything terrible or big.
