the first i recall was 9th grade, freshmen year in high school. it was for my english class, and i did the report on the band "iron maiden." i had posters taped to the blackboard, and brought in a tape player and played short bits of "somewhere in time," "seventh son of the seventh son," and "rhyme of the ancient mariner."

i got an A.

I was in the gifted program, and my teacher tried to make me to extra things in class to enhance my classroom knowledge. My teachers decided I should make a classroom presentation and since I 3rd grade and we recently visited historic sites on vacation, I showed summer vacation slides and talked about them to the class. My teacher said my presentation was so good, she wished she had asked the principal to sit in. That would have scared me silly, though!

Montessori school (so I was about six), and it was about our trip to see the Kansas City Symphony play. I gave it to the next younger age group who were too young to go. The teachers asked me to do it since I was the most articulate in my age group.

everyone seems to have had one loooooong before i. i really can't recall doing one before my freshman year in high school. we had to read in front of the class many times starting in second grade...but not a report.

I don't even remember. Pretty sure it was in the 5th grade or earlier though & if it was in the 5th grade it was on the weather. Fun topic, let me tell ya. Then I remember having to do some in the 6th grade, but never in high school, thankfully! I can go on video and talk up a storm, but cannot talk in front of a crowd, especially people I know.
