Have you ever just not been into a review?

sweetiejo sweetiejo
So i have been working on a lingerie review for about 2 weeks now, (long time for me and lingerie). I just can't get into this review like i usually do. I loved the product but the review is just crashing. So I was wondering if anyone else had ever been like this and how you fixed it.

I took a bit of a break, went over the positives and negatives and then put a different spin on the review. Sometimes I find myself getting caught or stuck in a review rut. When I look at it from a different perspective I will get fresh ideas, a new review and then can write a good one about the item. You do not have to write it wth your original idea if there are other points coming out.

Thats a really good idea. I thought about doing it as video review but I'm not sure about it. I have never done one before

I take a break and work on another review, just forget about that one for a bit. Some I just don't get into at all, but you have to chug through them anyways!

I take a break and poke around the forums and add items to my wishlist until I can think straight, somethings having a cup of coffee or whatever you do to relax does the trick. And reading other reviews so I know what to add too.

Call me crazy - but I always start out by cleaning off my desk. I usually feel so much better when my desk is organized.

Then I might work on another review or read or just walk away from the review for a bit if that didn't help.

Right now I haven't written a review in DAYS and it's driving me crazy - waiting to get stuff to review....

For lingerie reviews when I can't think of where to start, I start by putting it on, touching it, smelling it, and then measuring it.

Oh I've been there. For those reviews I just take my time, making sure to wear/test it multiple times and take breaks if I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere with the review.

I haven't yet but I can tell that it might eventually happen.

I usually just give it some time and come back to it later.

I've thought about reviewing other items, but lingerie reviews just seem easier to me.

I start by taking a metric buttload of pictures. Even if you don't want to post them, they give you ideas for what to put in the review. I take pictures of the packaging, me in the garment, the garment on the floor, anything that came with it....whatever. Seeing the pics helps trigger thoughts you have on the piece, or sometimes helps you see things you would've missed otherwise (like in the wild night corset review. I didn't even realize the grommets were uneven until I saw the pics).

That happened to me once, and I just forced my way through it. I don't really call it a 'fix', but it was an assignment, so it had to be done.

I usually have to leave that particular review if I can't get into it. If I can't get into reviewing at all, I just won't bother even trying. Cause I know if my heart isn't into it and I just force it out, it's gonna suck! And I HATE doing a shitty job.

I'd much rather owe an overdue review and do a decent job of it, then do a half-ass job after Eden has folked out the money and given me the priviledge of reviewing it. I feel I owe them the best I can offer.

It has happened to me too. I think it probably happens to everyone at some point. I just leave it for a while. I come back to it eventually, but there is no sense in forcing a review, and then having it turn out bad. I let it sit for a week (or more) and come back to it when I'm ready. Then, when I finally come back to it, I usually end up finishing it really quickly, and being happy with the results. I just do my other reviews in the meantime. Don't force it, let the review come to you. It will eventually.

Sometimes!!!!

If the product was terrible!!!! I do not feel comfortable writing a review without trying to find something positive about it.

I have tons of reviews that are sitting in my account unfinished for this reason. I just finished a review I started a couple years ago. It happens.

I've had a little writer's block for over a month now. I have a review to do on flavored body powder, and there just isn't that much to say about it. Since I started putting pictures in my reviews, I feel like I always need to do them now. So, it always makes me put off doing the review, especially if I can't say that much about the product.

Yup. I'm supposed to be doing a review for a DVD right now...the problem is, it was terrible. Thus, epic writer's block.

I have the same issue. I flaked for awhile and put out reviews without pictures because I honestly didn't think they were necessary and I had to get the review done, but now when I look through them I wish I had. I overwhelmed myself with products and I still have about 20 things I can write reviews on that I haven't yet started and I'm like "dooo it, you know you want to"...viscious circle.

The last review I did was hard to write...not because it was wonderful or terrible, it sort of fell into the "meh" category. It took a lot of dawdling to get it written, but I did finally get it started.

I just left it alone until I could come back and write a bit, then a bit more. I got through it eventually!

Sometimes it's hard to write about something you hated. Or something similar to what you have reviewed before. Sometimes I just don't now what to say. I like the extended template but sometimes I use the other because I just don't have THAT much to say about certain things.

Yes. And sometimes I've put it down for a good while. Sometimes, I just tackel it and put it behind me.
