I think that the reason I thought of this question was based on a recent related post. It misread it and thought that the vibrator was in animal form. With the laws saying you cant have sex with animals, and all. Even though you are not, just do not know what the rules were. Anyone else know?

I know that in certain communities and fetish groups, they're very popular. I think they're really cool looking and since many of them are made on an individual basis to color specs, etc., they really are like works of art. It's legal. It's like making a cast out of a human male, same concept. It's only illegal if you use the real thing attached to the real animal.

And most sites do not do live casts but used a 3D modeling program to sculpt them. Only EE does some live casts that I know of, and they have live cast human ones as well. (It'll say on there, live cast or sculpted.) Hell they even did a cast of a garden gnome!
