At what age did you lose your virginity?

Contributor: Saraid Saraid
I was 20 (it was actually only February of this year). It wasn't that I was saving myself for anyone, I just had never had a relationship longer than a week and am very shy.

I really liked it even though there was a lot of pain the first time we actually managed to get him to penetrate me. We went on to have sex 3 more times that weekend. Needless to say I was walking funny in class on Monday.

I was 20 (this was a LONG time ago!). I'm still not sure to this day whether it was consensual. I had a date with a guy (I was living in Vienna, Austria at the time) and he ended up staying in my dorm room. Did I really believe we weren't going to have sex? I'm not sure. I wasn't totally naive, but on the other hand, he said he wouldn't touch me. In any case some time during the night he climbed on me (I was asleep) and he had sex with me. I just lay there. Maybe it was what is called date rape today, but I can't remember if I ever said no.

I do know that I thought it was about time for me to have sex. It wasn't fun; it wasn't painful; it was something I had to get through.

I was 18 and it was as cliche as it gets. My girlfriend and I went to senior prom and were at a friends house afterwards whose parents were out of town. We were in the hot tub alone and things heated up. It was good, not great...but good.

My first was gay sex with one of my friends in his parents shower while they were gone. It wasn't anything very special, especially when his parents came home and kept telling him not to take such long showers because it was a waste of hot water. They were a bit surprised when both of us walked out holding a bottle of lube. Just a little bit embarrassing.

My first time was a huge fail. It hurt, I tore, and let's face it, teenage boys aren't the most gentle, or caring lovers...

I was 17, and my boyfriend at the time and I were both virgins. We planned it out so that we could do it at his house while his parents were at work (we were out of school because it was a holiday). He was so nervous that he had trouble staying hard, and it took a couple of tries for him to get it in. I didn't have any trouble with pain or discomfort, but it wasn't extremely pleasurable, either. It lasted a couple of minutes, and when it was over we lay in each others arms and cried because we were just so happy. I'm not sure I could have asked for a better first time.

I was 14. It was a very stupid decision. The guy was a jerk and it ruined my freshman year of high school.

I was 18 and living with my boyfriend.
It was actually the first night I was there.
He was rather experienced and I was rather..not.
I don't particularly remember it hurting; of course I just had a baby, so I think sex for the first time couldn't even compare.
I didn't know what I was doing, so we stuck with missionary.
I think I liked it; I've had so much amazing sex since then that I barely remember my first time.

Very first sexual experience was when I was 12. Was with an older brother of a friend of mine (who was 14 at the time; Not a radical age difference.), and was completely consensual. No penetration, but oral was performed by the both of us. I still can't help getting red when I think of the fact that I nicked him with my teeth.

I lost my “virginity” as defined by penetration between a male and female, when I was 16 ½. Wasn't all that “good” to be honest, we were both virgins and had no idea what the hell we were doing. Ended up stopping after a little while because she was obviously in pain; went to oral and actually managed to have her enjoy it if nothing else. No stars, no shining light.

The second time & third times however were much more enjoyable experiences .

I was actually about a month before my 13th bday. I was with the guy for 6 months at the time and we were madly in puppy love. It happened in my room at my parents house. It was around 11:30 pm on November 2, 2002. I remember I lit a bunch of candles whilts he had to run to the Rocky Top(7/11) to get a condom. We were both virgins so I was trying to make it special. We lasted for 2 years after that and I got with the man I married( #2). I didnt sleep with #3 until my husband and I decided to have an open relationship. After that my bisexual side took over and I have decided that my husband is the only man in the world that can handle me in bed and if i seek someone else to sleep with it will be another woman. I'm not sure how many women I have been with or when I lost my "Lesbian Virginity" LMAO!

Mine's funny as hell ...

It was two weeks before high school graduation, two months before my 19th birthday, and we decided that since school was having a half day for seniors, we would go off-roading that afternoon.

Up to this point, we have been nothing but regular friends - shooting bullshit at each other, trying to set the other up on dates (I don't know how many of my female friends I hooked him up with), and only one kiss between us (a surprise b-day gift to him).

So here we were, middle of nowhere quarry, and we get stuck on a huge pile of sand. Two more feet, and we would have ended up with our noses sticking out of the back of our heads. We spend the next two hours trying to dig his truck out, getting incredibly exhausted and dehydrated, until he runs off to find some help. Lo and behold, the boy finds a front end loader to pull his truck out. It worked, left a note to apologize for letting it run out of gas (we may have been stupid, but we were polite ), then limped back to my house to clean up.

My parents were out of the house when we got there, so we took turns showering, then sat in my room in our towels and talked ... I came onto him ... he accepted and started to lead ... then we suddenly found ourselves completely naked and humping like stoats. He had a few other girls while I was a complete virgin, so he tried his best. Hurt like hell, and a few fantasies were crushed, but I still regard the experience very warmly.

The capper? Fourteen years later after shitty marriages to other people, we're back together again and I'm really enjoying it this time.

My first time sucked. It was a week before my 15th birthday, with my best friend's much older brother, and it was a "Let's get this over with already." moment. The pain ended up being too much for me (Imagine that. There is a pain that's too much for me.) and I made him stop. We didn't speak for something crazy like two years after that even though I was over their house almost every day. Probably not one of the best decisions I ever made. Probably not the worst, either, though.

I was just turned 19 when I lost my virginity. It was with my boyfriend that I had been with for over a year. We had decided to wait till we were both comfortable and ready. We were on my bed just making out and messing around and randomly taking off clothes until we were both naked. He ended up on top of me and just slid in, we were both surprised and had not planned on having sex that day. We had been gradually working up to having sex before that day, but had no definite plans as to when we were going to do it. It wasn't painful, as I had been using toys for years. It was relaxing and loving. I don't regret it at all. We are still together and have been for four years and plan on getting married next year.

I lost my virginity at 18. Which I'm proud of. It was with my current partner, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. It was a lovely experience. Before that, I had never done anything but masturbate and that was mostly with him on the phone. Haha! Since we live a state apart, we met about two years into our relationship. Prior, we had phone sex almost twice a day for a looong time.

I'm gay and have never had sex with a guy, so I've never had the whole male/female penetration, losing my virginity experience.

As far as I'm concerned I lost my virginity when I was 17.

It was with a girl who was way too old for me (like 10 years older than me). She was my first "girlfriend", and I felt obligated to do it, because I was young and naive and thought that I had to do it in order to be a part of the gay community.

I had also just come out, along with several of my friends. We were all young and knew nothing about the GLBT community. We were trying to figure everything out as we went along, and didn't have any good role models to talk to about anything, especially of the gay sexual/relationship nature.

That's probably why I ended up in a completely inappropriate situation, as did my best friend. Luckily his only lasted a few months. Mine lasted almost 2.5 years.

That decision is one of the worst I have ever made, and it lead into a horrible relationship that ate up a lot of my adolescence. I would take it back if I could.

Honestly, I would have rather had sex with the boyfriend I had shortly before my I met my first "girlfriend". Even though I am not sexually attracted to men, and I would have been too young for my liking, I feel like he deserved it more because we had an emotional connection and a deep mutual respect for one another.

So, for any virgins out there, don't be afraid to wait for someone you really care about. Don't ever do it because you feel pressured. You'll regret it forever.

I was freshly turned 16 (The month before was my birthday) and it was amusing to me because you know how you see in movies, where the guy is like, (If it's a romantic/sweet movie anyway) "Baby we can wait- I'll wait for you...if you're not ready, we don't have to do this..." And the girl looks a little scared, and such?

Well I was the one who proposed sex to my boyfriend, and he was the one who was scared. To which I assured him, "It's alright that you're not ready baby- I'll wait, I can wait for you."

Always made me laugh because I was the 'dude' of the relationship. I really was too, not even just at that aspect. Oh, did I mention we did it in my room while my parents were downstairs? Sometimes parents are too trusting...I'm gonna remember my antics, for when I have kids.

Let's see.. it was New Years 2006, and I was 19 years old, just 4 1/2 months til 20 years. The guy was a friend of mine, not particularly close, but I did have a crush on him. Oh, and I had broken my hymen accidentally when I was younger (you know how sometimes trails are marked with 4x4 wood planks lying along the sides? and how kids like to pretend they are tight-rope walkers? I fell straight down.)
Anyway, here's what led up to it - he and a buddy decided that they had to throw a party in Pittsburgh, Pa, in one of the nicer hotels in the city. At some point, after the group managed to get pretty drunk, we headed out into the city because we were convinced that the fireworks were on the other side of town. (Turns out, they would've been right out the window.) We were just about to Station Square, still crossing the bridge, when one of the guys started demanding to have his keys. He got into a fight with our key keeper and they rolled right into traffic. Luckily, they got back out unscathed, and caused no accidents. But we were all freaked out and ran back to the hotel for fear of being arrested. Most of the revelers vanished, and with their cars. So there were only the two of us left. Although I was a little drunk, I would still describe it as consensual. He even asked me more than once if I was sure about it. He took good care of me and attended to me orally before really getting into it. We mostly did missionary, largely because me on top really didn't seem to work out at the time. We did do a really dumb thing - no condom. That's probably the one thing I would really change about it. Funny though - he asked me 2 or 3 times if I was lying about being a virgin. I took it as a compliment.

I was 19, he was my also 19-year-old boyfriend at the time. He wasn't a virgin, but not by much- i was only his second girlfriend/partner. He was nice, it didn't hurt. We're no longer together, but I'm glad my first time was with somebody I trusted and who cared about me.

I was 13 he was 23 (criminal, I know) and I actually kept seeing him off and on for two years. I don't really regret it. He was a good boy toy and oddly enough took orders from a 13 year old very well. Best of all he was talented, attentive, and always super safe (condoms, dams, you name it he made use of it!)

I was 15, he was more experienced than me, and it wasn't the worst thing ever. I kept thinking it was supposed to be like, this magical thing or something like that, but it was nothing. Nothing really changed, it didn't hurt, it wasn't fantastic. It wasn't until the next guy that I realized that I was supposed to get pleasure out of it too, and even still he kinda sucked at that. Onto guy number 3, I've found my happy medium, lol

Ah! So funny, me too! My husband (then boyfriend) was just so traumatized by the whole thing he kept asking if I was alright for the next two or three days. Then, I finally got fed up with it and said "It was just sex!" and he moped for weeks.

I was 18 and on my period! It was the most awful and traumatizing experience. I was terrified of sex for the longest time with my boyfriend at the time because it hurt so much worse during my cycle. After he had taken my virginity, he pretty much guilted me into sex every time after that. I felt obligated to him...and it was awful.

I finally have grown to love sex and being sexual. It took nearly 3 years

We were both 18, and he'd been my boyfriend for a few months and my friend for years. We talked about it a lot before hand, I got on the pill to prepare and everything. Waiting was tough, but I'm so glad we did.

The first time hurt a little, felt kinda nice, but was mostly very odd and overwhelming. The second, third and fourth times, all in the next 48 hours, were much better.

I am an adult male.I was 15. She was older. The first night started in her living room. Moved to the basement/game room/. It was wonderful. I think I climaxed 2/3 times. It lasted 1 1/2 years. I stopped the relationship. It was the first of many times I thought with my Heart and Head. I did not have intercourse for 11 years till I was married. Twenty years later, It is coming to an end and it's been three years. I look forward to my future, and my new partner/lover. I hope it is soon. It will be worth the wait. I love sex, I just can't cheat. I must have my morals. And, she deserve the best I can give her. I am no saint, but I am not the best parishioner either.

I was 15 - it was great. It didn't hurt, but that's probably because I was so turned on and completely participating. I hate hearing stores of young girls having sex when it wasn't their idea and they didn't enjoy it. Too many girls are detached from their own sexuality while trying simultaneously to be mindful of the sexuality of someone else.
