Not So Small, But Still Pretty Sexy

This plug is a great starter for venturing into using glass anally. It's certainly not for somebody completely new to anal play, but with some anal experience, just about anybody should be able to enjoy this plug.

Use

When one thinks of a "small" toy, they are all most likely thinking of something smaller than this plug. True, it is smaller than the medium or large size Sexy Spades, but it's definitely not a beginner plug. With proper warm-up however, anybody could enjoy this beautiful glass toy.

Material / Texture

All of the Sexy Spades plugs are made of glass, making them pretty freaking awesome. They're of course completely non-porous, free of phthalates or anything else your body might not like, and in addition to being completely smooth and scent free, they're also great for temperature play. Changing the temperature of your plug before insertion is pretty easy; if you want it warmer, let it rest in a bowl of warm (not hot) water for a few minutes, if you want it colder, put it in a bowl of ice water beforehand. There's really no texture to speak of, although the glass may lose its luster if you play with it in your hands for a while, picking up smudges and whatnot.

Design / Shape / Size

This plug is a little hefty to be a beginner's plug, but if you've had some experience with anal play and fitting objects almost 5" around in your butt, then you should be fine here. It starts out with a nice tapered head, and about 2" down you reach the neck. The neck is also nice and thick at just over 3 1/2" around. The upside to a thicker neck is that if you leave the plug in for a while, it's not as big of a shock to your body when you try to remove it. The downside is that the larger neck might not be as comfortable for longer wear. The base is just slightly wider than the circumference of the bulb, coming in at just over 2 1/2".

The base and neck are both completely clear, while the bulb has a really neat swirled pattern to it, mixing notes of blue and brown in an eye catching design. While you could use this as something like a paperweight, to anybody who knows anything about sex toys at all, it's pretty obvious that this is a butt plug, so keep that in mind if you leave it out. It's small enough to travel with very easily as well.

Performance

Quite possibly the only downside to this plug is the round base. Sure, it keeps your butt from swallowing the plug, but it's really not all that comfortable for long term wear. After some warm-up and relaxation, go ahead and slide it on it. The tip has just the right amount of pointy to it, allowing for easy insertion but not causing any real discomfort. Once you're used to the size of the plug, it's comfortably filling. Be careful how you sit while wearing this plug, I've noticed that sometimes the neck starts to sort of come out. Not in any real danger of popping it out on its own, but it'll jut out at a weird angle. Sitting, especially on a surface that isn't padded, can be pretty uncomfortable as well. But standing and walking are both comfortable and easy.

Care and Maintenance

Care and maintenance for glass toys is always super easy. First, you can feel free to use any body safe lubricant you want. After you're done playing, go ahead and wash your plug in the sink with warm soapy water. Want to let somebody else borrow your awesome plug? You can either bleach it, or boil it. You should try and store this somewhere where it won't roll around and be able to knock into other things; either in a padded ouch, or back in the original packaging it came in.

Packaging

The packaging for this wasn't all that bad. It's all plastic, and looks pretty classy. Not classy enough that you might want to give one as a gift, but definitely not embarrassing in the least bit. There isn't much for instructions either, but this plug should be pretty easy to figure out on its own.

The box itself is slightly larger than the toy, and the plug sits in a plastic tray inside. It pulls out easily and doesn't fight you upon removal. You can easily use this packaging for storage, although it probably won't hold up to long term usage.

Experience

This was my very first glass plug, and I had no idea what to expect when using it. I mean, I knew to expect that glass is hard and not forgiving at all, but I wasn't quite prepared for the size. It is small, but not exactly the first thing I think of when one says "small." Fortunately, it's about the same size around as my husband, if a little smaller, so with a little bit of warm-up, and a little more warm-up, I was able to get it in pretty easily. It fought me for a little bit, so I took it back out, played with something else, and tried at it again.

This isn't a plug I can wear often or for long periods of time. I have to be in the right mood for anal play to begin with, and then in the right sub-mood to want something big, so this doesn't see much action. However, every time I do use it, it does fill me up nicely. I can't get anything into my vagina while I'm wearing this anally, so there's no chance of wearing it during sex. But as a warm-up for anal sex with my husband? Sure, on occasion.
