The Tantus Ripple
This toy is awesome, for male and female bodied folks alike. Orgasms are stronger and easier to achieve with anal stimulation and the Ripple is the perfect introduction to these new sensations. I would recommend this to anyone curious about anal play.Published: October 20, 2011
Pros:
beginner-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, comfortable, body safe.
Cons:
nothing, this toy is awesome! Although the user may want to graduate quickly to a larger size.

Use
This toy goes in your butt. If you're new, relax and take it slow and I can almost promise you it will fit all the way in on your first or second try. The small size is IDEAL for beginners. If you are looking for a first time butt toy THIS IS IT. The base is wider than the widest point, so it's totally safe. And while the circular base may not be a perfect fit between the cheeks, the silicone is soft enough not to cause any discomfort.
This probe can be used similarly to a dildo in that it's meant to go in and out. Although it is often referred to as a plug, it is not one. If you stand up it will fall on the floor. Awkward.
I've also heard it can be used vaginally (and that it feels awesome!!). But as a certified germaphobe, the idea of putting something I've had in my butt into my vagina terrifies me, so I cannot vouch for that.

Material / Texture
One reason I love Tantus toys is the quality of the silicone. This toy is completely body safe and I like the piece of mind it gives me. While the toy itself does not have a distinct scent, it can possibly retain it. Washing it immediately after use keeps it fresh. The material also attracts quite a bit of dust, so rinsing before use is necessary.
The one unexpected but important feature to note in this material is that the silicone is SQUISHY. Much more "springy" than I expected. I can see why this is a plus, as this is definitely a toy meant for beginners and it is very comfortable even for first time users. However, the squishiness can make it a little tricky to insert at first. Try lubing up the tip, holding the toy at the bottom of the smallest bulb (to guide) and the middle/3rd bulb (to push)- be patient.

Design / Shape / Size
The design of the Ripple, aside from insertion, could not be better for beginners. While in no way discreet, the Ripple is quite stylish for something meant for your anus. The purple tones in the toy I received were deep and varied all throughout the toy, and the round base looks adorable between my partners cheeks.
While neither of us were crazy about the sensation of the bulbs entering or exiting (personal preference entirely), the small Tantus Ripple provides a great warm up for something a little more medium-sized by offering four levels of diameter in one.

Performance
This. Toy. Feels. Lovely.
Really. Both me and my male partner love it for different reasons. Prior to the Ripple, neither of us had experienced anything in our asses other than fingers and this toy has inspired enthusiasm to move further.
I find I get the most pleasure from the Ripple when combined with clitoral stimulation, using my PC muscles to squeeze the toy pulling it and pushing it inside of me.
He enjoys sitting on top of it cross legged, rocking on it in circular motions. While the small size is not quite long enough to really get his p-spot going, it provides a great amount of pleasure when combined with regular masturbation. It is also a great supplement to fellatio, but what else is new.

Care and Maintenance
I kept the packaging for this toy and I store it in the plastic container to keep dust off-this; it's about 80% effective. Unless I'm feeling extremely impatient, I try to rinse it off before every use. Aftercare is an absolute must, but I just use a gentle handsoap or dishsoap. I really like lavendar scents; they're relaxing.
Because this is a silicone toy it cannot be used with silicone lubricant and I find a thick, water-based gel feels best. Once when that wasn't available, I used a flavored lube and I will tell you right now it smelled AWFUL when I was done with it. Nothing like orange-chocolate and butt to get your appetite going!
