You Can't Handle The Pressure

While this toy was ok for me when used as a dildo. When used as a butt plug it exerts a huge amount of pressure on my prostate which is just too much. It also has a seam running down the center of it that is uncomfortable. Unless you know that you enjoy a lot of pressure on your prostate, I would recommend looking for a different prostate massager or butt plug.

Use

Luna is a butt plug designed to be used by both males and females. It does not require a free hand to hold in place during use allowing more flexibility. This makes it wearable during vaginal, oral or manual sex, during masturbation, or for stretching of the anus for larger toys or anal sex either worn short term or long term. It can either be left in place for a full sensation or using the suction cup on the toy (or your hand) you can use it more as a dildo for an in and out motion.

Material / Texture

Luna is made of 100% silicone and does not have any smell to it. The material of the toy is smooth except for the natural grabbing action of silicone. This is easily overcome with sufficient lubricant and the surface becomes very slick with just a little lube. The silicone on the base of the toy is a little different with some roughness to it for added stimulation. Luna was a little long for me so trying to get stimulation from the base didn't work very well for me. Comparing the hardness of the material to some of my Tantus toys, the silicone seems to feel a little bit softer with a little more give to it. Because the neck on the toy is relatively thin, it's fairly easy to bend the toy forward or backward.

Design / Shape / Size

Luna has a different shape than any of my other butt plugs. Its shape is designed to help keep it in place during orgasm and for the most part it accomplishes this pretty well. I have had it slip out a few times if a lot lubricant is used and I'm especially loose. While this shape helps the toy to stay in better, it also makes it harder to insert and makes this a toy that should only be used by those with a good amount of anal experience. It has about .75" more insertable length than my Aneros Progasm and is a bit wider as well especially at the bend. The main difference though is that instead of being relatively straight, this one juts out forward at the bend. This provides a much firmer pressure on the prostate. It is obviously less rigid than the Progasm, so that helps; but it's still too much pressure for me. With all this pressure the last thing this toy needs is the seam that runs down the center of the toy. This seam pushes directly on the prostate which is quite unpleasant. Also when I contract my pc muscles, the toy seems to poke the front of my rectum instead of going further in. Obviously each person's body is unique; but for me, it would probably be better if it was a little bit shorter.

Performance

I can't help thinking this might be a good toy for females who are wanting a butt plug to provide extra pressure during vaginal intercourse, as I can only imagine how much pressure this could apply on the vaginal wall. As a man, this toy provides a HUGE amount of pressure on the prostate. While some may enjoy this, for me it was just too much. The seam down the middle was a little bit painful and I found it irritating. I may try taking some sand paper or something else to it eventually to see if this would get rid of the seam as it definitely hurts my rating of this toy. Used as a traditional butt plug, this toy did not provide a pleasurable feeling.

The one saving grace with this toy for me is that the suction cup allows it to be used more like a dildo than a butt plug if desired. Using it this way felt much more pleasurable to me. Unfortunately the suction cup isn't the best in the world and I kept having it either come undone or slide away from me.

It's too long for me but the base on this may be ok for long term wear. It's a little big but doesn't have any sharp corners like my Tantus Ace Royal. So it might be good for this.

Care and Maintenance

While this toy comes with a container suitable for storing it in, it's a bit bulky and is hard to close. I just keep mine in a plastic sandwich bag which works just fine. Silicone is fairly easy to take care of if you follow a few simple tips. First try to avoid silicone lubes if possible, as they may react to or bond to your toy. If you really want to use silicone lube than do a spot test on the base to see how it reacts. Silicone toys may also react to other silicone toys so try to keep them from touching one another. Silicone is non-porous and can easily be cleaned with soap and water. If you are planning to share this toy, be aware that you should either sterilize it by soaking it in a 10% bleach solution, boil it in water, or use a condom over it.

Packaging

Luna comes packed in a clear see-through thin plastic case. It's a little bit small for the toy. So while you can store it in it if you want, it is a bit hard to keep both ends of it closed. There are no directions or diagrams with this toy.

I would give give this toy three stars if it wasn't for the seam down the center that takes what would be an ok toy and makes only fair at best for me. If I get around to removing the seam at some point I'll write a follow up review of my thoughts then.

Follow-up commentary I've started to like it more 2 months after original review

So I finally got around to making some changes to this toy. As I said in my review, the seam on this toy is pretty painful on my prostate. While I wasn't able to completely remove this seam, I was able to decrease its discomfort quite a bit through my modification. So here's how it looked before I got started.

I started out with some 240 grit sandpaper and quickly went to 150,100 and then finally 60. Even with the 60 it took a lot of work to make any real progress. I decided to try a razor blade and this worked much quicker but also caused some bad looking nicks on it as well. This is what it looked like when I was done.

It literally took me an hour to get this far and as you can see it's still not great.

When I tested the toy out after the modification, the seam really didn't bother me at all which was nice. I mentioned before that it felt like it was a little too long but this time around it seemed to be ok. I also took the advice in one of the comments on my review and tried Luna backwards. It seemed to fit in ok but was just pushing on the back wall of my rectum a little uncomfortable. Not awful or anything but with the changes I made I would say forward is much better.

Luna still really didn't do much for me though. I can't quite put a finger on what it is but I still don't really enjoy this toy even though now it's more comfortable. I won't let this hurt my rating of this toy though as the seam really hurt it's rating for me. If I was re-rate it after my modification, I'd give it four star.
