Silky Sash Restraints by Sportsheets are an easy and convenient bondage toy. I purchased these to be used with another set of silk restraints I own. My other set is made from deep red silk. I knew this Sportsheets set wouldn't be quite as nice, but they were affordable, and I thought they would be effective as well. I was right. They are inferior to my other set, but they are a nice set. I feel I have a complete set now that I have 4 sash restraints.

The name is a bit misleading because these are not silk. They seem to be some kind of satin material. They remind me of wide ribbon. They are comfortable and pretty, and I think they are a good value. Each package contains 2 silky sashes. They are especially suited for beginners or those who enjoy light bondage play. Measuring in at 4 feet, they do very well for tying wrists or ankles to a headboard or other piece of furniture. They can be used simply as wrist or ankle cuffs. They can also double as a blindfold. You could also get creative and use them to adorn other parts of your body or lingerie. A bow around the neck is pretty. (Just not too tight, OK) Keep in mind they are only 4 feet. The short length might not be enough for all intended uses. If you wanted to tie both sets of wrists and ankles you would need to purchase 2 sets of these.

The box clearly states these are for beginning bondage. If you like extreme play, these will probably not meet your needs. However, if you are experimenting this is a nice introduction to bondage. If you like bondage that is more teasing and flirting this could be a nice addition. My husband and I fall into the latter category. We like our bondage toys to be comfortable, easy to get in and out of, attractive, and durable. The Silky sash restraints meet all those expectations.

I purchased the red restraints, but they are also available in black.

As stated above these are not silk. The material is inferior to real silk. It's not as luxurious or soft. My real silk restraints feel heavenly on my skin. These are coarser and heavier. That's not to say that they are uncomfortable in any way. They are just not as luxurious as silk. They are not itchy or scratchy. They feel nice on skin. The red is a bright shade of red that is very inviting. They are slightly shiny. Both sides of the material are the same.

The material had lots of creases from being folded in its box, but it ironed out nicely.

The restraints are 4 feet long and about 4 inches wide. These are the exact same length as my other set, but double the width. I am not sure why, but they look shorter to me. Perhaps the extra width makes them appear fatter and shorter rather than long and lean. I guess it's an optical illusion, but the appearance also makes them seem inferior to my long and lean set.

The length is enough to tie to headboards, but it keeps the bound person fairly close. Another foot or so would have been nice. The ends are cut at a diagonal. The hem at the ends are sewn fairly neatly. One of the ends had a thread sticking out. It was easily clipped. They look well made and should last a long time.

For our purposes, these work well. They are very easy to use. No buckles, velcro, locks, or clasps. We just pull them out and enjoy.

We have used them in various ways. They are nice tied to the bed. They are easy and fast to tie and equaly easy and fast to untie. As long as they were secure, I couldn't get out of them unless I really wanted to. It's important to us that whatever we use is easily escaped from. We tend to worry about sudden heart attacks or house fires so escapability is a necessity. Our favorite use is to attach them to our Liberator pieces using a D-ring. I found them to be effective any which way they were used.

They worked fairly well as a blindfold. They worked best folded in half so that they were 2 inches wide. I could see a tiny bit out of the edges, but not a whole lot. It was secured well to my head and didn't slip. I have better blindfolds, but this was effective.

These arrived in a box that clearly stated that these were for beginning bondage. There is a picture of a bound half naked gal on the front. It's not discreet. I threw the box away. It's not really nice enough for storage. I keep my sashes in a bag with my other restraint cuffs. They don't take up much room, so they are very easy to store.

I do really like this set. I needed another set of sashes so we could bind both ankles and wrists at the same time. It would have been nice to have another real silk set, but these are very effective. Previously we usually just tied up my wrists. My husband, a foot fetish guy, really likes seeing the sashes around my ankles. It's a perfect decoration whether I am actually restrained to anything or not. We are both happy we finally have a full set.
