More Uses than Duct Tape

If you're poor like me and had to use belts for restraint, this is definitely worth spending the $10 on to use instead.
Published: December 6, 2010
Pros:
Sticks only to self, reusable, cheap, easy to clean
Cons:
Can be annoying to reroll

somewhat useful review
The Fantasy Bondage Tape has so many ways to use it. I'm not sure if I could think of them all. You can wrap your ankles together, wrap it around bent legs and keep them bent, create a sort of monoglove, make an elaborate harness type thing around a girl's chest, or blindfold. Hell, you could even wrap it around yourself and make your own PVC tube top. I wouldn't recommend that last one though, it's PVC and can hold your body heat. It cleans easy but icky sweaty tape just doesn't sound pleasant. If you have posts on your bed (or wherever you're restraining someone), the tape could wrap around both someone's wrists/ankles and the post at the same time, instead of using cuffs or tethers. If you wanted to, you could put some toys in and use the tape for makeshift panties to keep the toys from falling out. Really, your imagination's the limit.

Just like the item description says, this does not stick to hair, skin, or anything but itself. It resists pulling apart from itself rather well, though a couple layers would be needed to be effective. Unless you're using it for decoration and do not plan on restraining, wrapping only once or twice would do next to nothing in keep someone from escaping.

I'd also like to point out that when I wrapped this around my ankles to see how well it'd hold, there was a lot of wiggle room; I didn't have my ankles close together. I probably could have gotten up and awkwardly baby-step walked around if I wanted. Though, actually getting out of the tape didn't seem possible.

Since the tape is PVC, it's easy to clean if needed and can simply be rerolled either back onto the roll or just in a flat roll for storing until next use. Taking it off and re-rolling it can be a bit annoying though. It really really likes sticking to itself.
Experience
The first thing I noticed when getting this and taking it out of the packaging was that it was COLD. I shouldn't have been surprised, it was below 40 degrees outside. Personally I like cold things on certain parts of my body, so it wasn't a problem. I cut a few feet of the tape off and wrapped it around one bent leg. The cold felt nice, so if you're into temperature play, you can stick the roll in the fridge or freezer for a minute and get it cold.

Does it have an odor/taste? Did you find that it stretched? Was there a lot of tape? How much was there, could I wrap two people simultaneously and separately?

    • For beginners, would you recommend tape or some type of rope? How difficult is it to break free?
    • Quote: For beginners, would you recommend tape or some type of rope? How difficult is it to break free?
I do not recommend rope for beginners. Two reasons. ONE: There is an art to finding "the right rope" since you are basically adapting an industrial use tool (rope) to sensitive, nude humans. Abrasions, allergic reactions, etc are the very least of your concerns. Which leads us to TWO: Rope Bondage requires skill. Not just to make pretty knots. It requires an awareness of anatomy so you know what parts of the body you are restricting blood flow from and what muscles/bones/ligament s are at risk when you force someone into an "unnatural" position or redistribute their weight. I know people who have long term injuries from inexperienced tops. Chronic pain, etc. What do you know about the circulatory system in general and this bottom's specifically? Buy some books, take a class. Buy Jay Wiseman's bondage for beginners videos. You wouldn't fly a plane without a lesson. Don't fly a lover with less care.

Tape obviously has less of the above issues because it adheres and therefore doesn't have to be overly tight to be restrictive. It moves with the person and is more likely to remove body hair than abraid or "cut" the victim. But beware of latex allergies and similar to saran wrap mummification, you still have to watch for circulation (and in the case of mummification or excessive taping --overheating) and the dangers from being stuck in one position (does your bottom have diabetes, hypoglycemia, problems that might cause clotting?) Longer bondage requires you to reposition the bottom. Check the extremities constantly. Fingers, toes, etc. Are they cold? Discolored? No one bound should ever be left unattended. NOT EVER. If you like the tie them up and walk out mind fuck, then put them in a blindfold and tell them you're going shopping, slam the door and sit down and read a book. But check on them frequently. Keep him/her in your line of sight.

As to the second part of the question: People tend to wriggle free rather than break free. So the difficulty depends on the flexibility and persistence of the submissive as well as the tension/strength of the bondage material. Tighter bonds do give less room for manipulative fingers but at the cost of shorter play time. I think it's fun to let them try and when they are close to escape, out comes the duct tape and reapply. Or actually let them "break free" enough to get good blood flow and mobility going and then retape them in a new position. Leather cuffs are the easiest to escape and are more for weight and psychological bondage than effective restraint. For safe effective bondage consider hospital restraints or straightjackets.

    • How long will a roll last?
    • The tape is actually reusable provided that you cut a length that you intend to reuse. It will get dirty after a while so we typically get through a couple of uses before throwing it away. It can also be a bit of a hassle to re-roll up. So, if you don't want to, I suppose it'll last at least a half a dozen sessions if you only wrap hands and feet. How many times you wrap around for tightness will also eat up part of the roll faster.

If you reuse it, it has the potential to last forever. I've been blatantly abusing a strip or two so I can write a really accurate review of it after a few more serious tests. x'D
And it's so darn shiny...I keep staring at it just because I love the look of it. ^_^

  • Bondage Tape
    • This is my favorite bedroom toy! It lasts forever and can be made into almost anything - restraints, a c-sheath, even a decorative outfit.

I'm not too sure on the claims it can be reused...it *can* be, but the work to untangle and then wash it isn't really worth it in my opinion...it's a really inexpensive toy so I just get another roll.

Word to the wise, it's always a safe move to keep blunt-edge safety scissors nearby when doing any sort of erotic wrapping...it allows for an easy exit if your wrapp-ee needs a bathroom break or gets uncomfortable. :)

I agree, the work required to reuse the tape, I'd rather buy a few more rolls in a few colors. Less work, and way more fun! And I second the need for scissors near the bed, as when you first unroll the tape it can be ripped but once you start moving around a bit, the tape become folded in on itself some, and makes it impossible to rip!
    • I'm totally with you on this...it's an amazing product, even for those more experienced in bondage and fetish because its so affordable and easy to use. I tried reusing it ONCE though and it was a tangled, stuck-to-itself mess!
