Fresh ball gag - mouth gag discontinued by PHS International - review by requiem dreams

The Fresh Ball Gag may be a good start for someone who is just starting to get into BDSM, but for advanced users, I'm a bit wary on whether it is a good addition to your toy collection. This does have a very appealing look to it. Unlike a lot of other ball gags, this doesn't have an intimidating look to it, so it would be good for someone who is a bit apprehensive and intimidated by the looks of other ball gags.

The quality of it though is not the very best; the strap is a faux leather, and though it is soft and comfortable against the skin, it is not very durable. The buckle was not attached very well, so I went over the stitching myself before I ever used it. Within about three uses of mild play, one of the grommets used to buckle it fell out. Quality seems to have been overlooked on this toy, which I was sad about because I really loved the look of it.

The ball itself was a bit big. That was not a problem for me, but I could see it being bothersome for other people. The ball's diameter is just over 1 1/2 inches, so it is on the larger size. Since it is made of rubber, it did have a slight smell at first. After the first use, that went away. The main problem with the ball is that there is no real way to unattach it, so cleaning it properly can be a bit challenging. I would recommend washing it very thoroughly, since the bacteria can get into the holes where the straps attach. My ball did have a seam on it that bothered me at first. It cut into the corners of my mouth, which was unpleasant, but I used a nail file to even the seam out.

I wouldn't recommend this for someone who is rough with their toys or who knows that they like ball gags. This may be a good start for someone who is intimidated by the look of other ones, but personally, I would recommend a beginner seek out a different ball gag to start with to ensure that the experience that they have is at least a little pleasant for them.
